Default how many z's through its time line have you owned/drove

so i tried to use the search function on here and didnt find anything about past z's in the search so here goes

just wanted to hear some stories or fond memories people have with the Z cars through out its lifespan going back to the first and to the new 370. me personally have only experienced the Z32 and Z33 and both i own and love them both to death and both are 2 very different women. the 300zx (90-96) feels like a hiway missle super stable at high speeds though she was a very high maint. girl loved to be in the shop. would have loved to do my own work on it but just looking at the vg30 engine bay made me think otherwise and im no mechanic. the beautiful timeless lines get me compliments where ever i go and i had people tell me how well my car looked for being almost 20 years old next to my brothers 08 vette. Very sexy vette btw black on black with the dark gunmetal rims.

the 350z oh man where to start she is like a hot college chick, peppy fun makes you forget about all the stress and ya cant stop staring at her. only down side is you see alot of 350z's on the road. but i have yet to be in either of my z's and not get a friendly wave of Z fellowship from another owner regardless of model or year... and that is a huge reason i love these cars so very much. besides that everyone of them still looks like a beautiful car to me.

so tell me yalls storys

2- drove the test car, a SMB 07 and my car Black 08... loved the daytona blue, and was never really fond of the roadster, the rear was just too long looking.

Funny story, a bit dirty I suppose- a mate who also has a 350, and loves it to bits- got it on with his missus on the hood of the car... she said to me a few days later she knew he loved the car, but he 'arrived' A LOT sooner than normal go figure..

The positive comming from the end of the production line is the numbers will only go down now...

Driven Z31(+2), Z31 turbo, Z32, Z32TT, now Z33.

We've had our share of Z-cars in the family and friends circle. The Z31's are not worth mentioning because they were very well past their prime by the time I got my adolescent hands on them. I had fun teaching my friends MT on a four seater Z31 though.

OP's description of the Z32 is pretty spot on. It feels more like a planted missile than any of the other cars, but feels a tad heavy in the corners. I'd imagine it would need some work to be a confident road-race car. The Z32 TT was an awesome highway puller, loved the boost. Also, the Z32's felt like they were slung lower and wider. You felt like you were sitting in an exotic of some sort when they came out circa late '89-'90.

I would love to get behind the wheels of a restored S30 aka first or early model 240z.

I started with an 85 Turbo Z31, a 91TT Z32, a 76 280Z S30, now I have the Z33. I have driven the 370 and I like it a lot, but I will wait a couple years for bugs to be worked out. My brother owned an 83 turbo S130 so I have owned/driven all generations but IMO, the Z32 is the best looking car still and the Z33/370 are the more fun to drive. Dont get me wrong, If my Z31 had not been totaled by some *** in a parking lot, I would still be driving it to this day.

1- 1979 white with red interior 280zx. T-Tops 5 speed. I drove this car right after high school. 18 year old, college and part time jobs... drove to school and the beach mainly. No TICKETS... Then again, less LEO too.

2- 1986 red with black interior 300zx. T-Tops, aero package, automatic. My mom bought this car. I used to drive it occasionally throughout college. When she passed away, my dad storaged it. I now have re-acquired it and it's slowly getting restored so my Son can drive it.

3- 1993 white with immaculate leather black interior 300zx TT. T tops, 5 speed. Still only 80k with everything original except the battery and cross drilled brake rotors. I bought it to commute when I moved to WA in 2002 but ended up getting a home care job. Some of the homes I would visit had nasty driveways so I bought a junker jeep wrangler. Currently, car is covered up and sits in my garage. I don't know why I'm saving it for. Paid off and better investment than stock market?? Whenever I take it out, I routinely spin the tires- I think the rubber is getting old... brute power and no traction control!!

4- 2005 black on black 35th anniversary 350. 6 speed, Traction Control, Brembo's, all the toys...I purchased it on a whim when I it saw sitting at the dealersip...it didn't look like all the other 350s I'd driven. Lower stance with huge tires. And when I first started it up- that Nismo exhaust was music to me. I still like to open the windows, drop into 2nd gear and accelerate when I go through tunnels. Previous owner added Nismo Exhaust, Nismo CAI and 20" black rims with a silver dish. I finished up with dark tint, blacked out the brake/backup lights. Currently stored in my garage because I'm driving a BMW I bought for my son. He has 6 months till he gets his regular license so I have 6 months till I have to take the Z out of storage.

Just the 350 I own now. I actually owned my Z before I even sat inside of any Z. Loving a car on sight alone enough to buy it without even driving or sitting in it FTW

Yup no test drive either, and I'm not one of the pre-order members.

Just something about it, the way it moved on the highway and in videos got me hooked. I knew it was great, or at least I'd learn to fall in love with it.
The first couple of years were phenomenal, and too this day I enjoy getting into it. Never quite had this feeling with other cars and I've driven my share.

Had an '80 280z non-turbo ... fun little car. Drove my father's 1994 300zxTT once when I was 20... needless to say I didn't get to drive it ever again.

Talking

all i can say is i am jealous of some of you guys what i wouldnt give to experience each and every iteration of the Z first hand. i have SEEN everyone with exclusion of 370z in person. and i also agree that the 90-96 (90 since it had the clean nose with no hambuger on front plate) was the most gorgeous Z ever with the 350z a close second. i also had never drove a Z before i bought the 300zx and drove all the way from maine to outside of new york city to buy it. the owner at first didnt want to sell it to me because the bank check did not have the cash in escrow and he couldnt get it immediately. lucky for me the wife seemed to be on my side, and a call to navy fed cleared up the fact that the check was legit. oddly enough the wife gave me a heart shaped stone out of her garden as a good luck token, wierd i know she said it would bring me luck and keep me safe.....and i think it has i have been pulled over about 5 times in the z always for speeding hehe, and everytime the cop just gives me a warning. needless to say that rock will never leave the car.

if anyone wants to maybe they can throw in their favorite picture of their Z i will once i get off my work computer and can get on unrestricted WIFI.

3000GT? Those things were pretty sweet too.

They say cars are getting heavier to comply by today's safety standards, but man...Supra, 3000GT, 300Zx...those things must have been battleships back then!
