Default Car Wash chemicals?

Does anyone know if it is safe to use the “spot free rinse” at the manual car wash?

What is actually in it, and is it safe?
Also, is it a good idea to use the engine cleaning foam?

At the naual car washes around here "spot free rinse" simply means that the water is sprayed on the car with much less force, nothing to do with any chemical additive.

This is supposed to keep water spots from forming up on the car as it dries. I've tried this once and didn't find it to reduce water spots.

I believe it's just de-ionized water, similar to what water softners do, which is it pulls out the hard stuff, ie. rust, iron, etc...

I manage seven (7) "No Touch Car Wash Systems". Used mine daily until I installed the Injen CAI. Too much water directed at the cone. Most, but not saying all, apply a "Special Rinse" to remove the "Tri-Foam". We use a product from "Blue Coral" called "Velocity". Tri-Foam" being a conditioner. Our "spot free", which is applied after the "Rinse" is basically "soft water" which if treated like you might find in your house is soft. However, assuming they are using salt "no salt" - "no spot free rinse"!

Interesting, it looked like plain, simple H2O, so I never imagined that it was anything else.
