Default What to look out for when warrenty is ending...

Hey guys,

I currently have 30,000 miles on my 06 350z. My warrenty will end at 36,000 miles. Since I am encroaching on that mileage, I was wondering if you guys could help me out. What should I be aware of or look for before my warrenty ends? Do you guys regret not bringing something to Nissan's attention before the warrenty was over? My transmission seems OK but I don't want to be paying an arm and a leg for something that I could get covered under warrenty. I know that the 06 Z's have a problem with oil consumption but I am worried that the oil consumption problem will happen after my warrenty ends. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Thanks alot,
Dan

The powertrain warranty (engine, tranny differential, etc) is 5 years and 60K miles.

I wont "look" for anything. You know your car. You know when something is wrong.

It's not like we could point out a general problem like the transmission and you'd be able to walk into the service department and ask them to replace it before the warranty has expired. They will only replace or fix something if its broken. And a lot of time you have to fight them on that.

Thanks for the relpies. Those are true statements I just was wondering if there was any other way to be better prepared for when the warrenty ended but from what I understand you just have to wait until there is a problem to fix. Thanks for the answers, i'm just gonna hope that nothing bad happens after 6,000 miles.

Also, keep in mind, you might already be out of warranty. It's 36 Months, 36K Miles. When was the car first bought?

Call the dealership. Ask them for the inservice date of your VIN. Add 36 Months.

consider purchasing an extended warranty if you are concerned that parts will fail after the factory warranty expires. I had a 5 year 100,000 mi extended warranty and my transmission was replaced towards the end of it.

I just bought a 03 with 23k miles on it. I'm hearing what sounds like a pink noise every now and then from the right side rear wheels. Any ideas guys? I've had it for almost a week and I'm new to the car world. Anyone ever hear the same thing?

HOLY SHAT RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!

I didn't know it was possible to see sound, and you're seeing "pink" that can't be good.

You should take it to Nissan for service (or the eye-doctor)

LOL

And they obviously don't read the warranty book, either.

I guarantee that when i buy a car, I know what the warranty coverages are.

What's great is you don't know how to fully read through a thread before you post stupid ****.
