Default broken heart

I had my Z since april and i really loved her - for about 600 miles until i had to change the tranny , then the windows wouldnt go down while opening the door , then rattling noises inside the cabin , then strange noises when the clutch wasnt all the way pressed , won't ***** about window grease which was another trip to the dealer , or bose " system " which i've replaced , won't ***** about all the "small" issues most of the Z owners have...now i have 6k miles on her , tranny is going again i fell it , noises from rear axels when i accelarate 1 - 2 gear , windows rarely drop at opening , rough idle - maybe caused by intake ? not sure.... i dont want to get rid of her , every time i look at my Z im falling in love all over again , every time i start the engine and i hear the sweet sound of her - im falling for her... but i wanted a new car and got it for one reason... I didnt want to spend more time fixing it and going to the dealer than actually driving it.. i just had about enough... she broke my heart

now im seriously starting to think about trading it in for a new car , for one thats been in the market for some time now...
it'll probably be one of those choices: 04 STI , 04 S2000 , or 04 Maxima - but not sure if i would be able to trust nissan again...

also how does a lemon law work ? let say i stick with the Z and my tranny will get replaced for the third time... do they return all the money i paid for it or provide me with a new vehicle , and does it has to be the same car ?
thanks

My brother had his tranny go out in his ford powerstroke diesel 3 times in 2 years. He hired an attorney that specializes in that type of law. The guy said you will win this easily and he did. Bottom line, one (same) problem on a car 3 times, they eat it. They gave him his full money back. Ford then offered him a new pick up at their cost. Bottm line is he got all of his money back and even got to drive it while they ordered him a new one. Then, he got the new body style truck compared to his older model and it cost him 33K loaded 4x4 diesel with leather etc for $33,000 and if you price them, they are over $40,000. His new truck has not had one problem. How is that, he drove a car for over 2 years and it did not depreciate 1 penny!

My suggestion is if you love the way a Z drives, lemon law it and get another. My bet is the 2nd one will not have those problems. Mot of ours are running great. Every manufacture has one or two cars that just come off the assembly line with a problem. BTW, what is the build date on your Z?

Good luck, Jeff

Exclamation Older Models

I know that the 350Zs made later on in '03 have decreased the amount and severity of problems altogether.

My 350Z was made in May '03 and has virtually no problems. The tranny problem that I experience is very mild... mild enough for me to not take it in and get it replaced or fixed, and I 've always been at the dealer if I sensed any problem.

In other words, if you do decide to get a new 350Z the chances that your new ride will be exempt from all those hassles and worries are extremely high.
