I just created a ram disk on my OSX machine using 512MB ram...

Ill see if it makes a difference in the time it takes to complete a unit...

I know it will give my hard disk's a rest... (3 120GB drives) they all just spundown actually... much quieter in here now... ehhe

Are you using the graphics version?
Try the client version see how fast it is.
SETI SPY
This version will use all 100 % of your CPU power and it may cause your CPU to become much hotter when running it.
I have been using Seti Spy for 1 year so far it has not cause any problem.

i have my computer rack mounted... but i think it runs fairly cool for a dual g4...
