Default Andrew's Z-Downpayment Foundation

My fellow Zs, the Z-Downpayment Foundation was founded to assist Andrew Kissel (myself) to get a large enough downpayment to purchase his Z without a rollover from a trade-in. Established in September of 2003, the Z-Downpayment Foundation is non-profit; all proceeds go directly into the hands of the local Nissan Dealership.

The Z-Downpayment Foundation does offer something in return to those who graciously contribute $20 or more: 50MB of online storage space on a 100Mbps connection, and even a free email address if you are so inclined to have one. Finally, all donators will receive a hand-signed thank you letter from the infamous Andrew Kissel himself! Andrew Kissel writes using a top quality metal/chromish-looking pen someone gave him once, on 100% recycled paper. Yes - you get what you pay for - er, donate for. The Z-Downpayment Foundation wants to help you help us. All donations may be sent to paypal@terrafirm-media.com. The Z-Downpayment Foundation is owned and operated by Terrafirm-Media (http://www.terrafirm-media.com, NYSE: none, NASDAQ: none). Thank you in advance for your support.

Signing off..

Can I ask how old are you before I donate? If you are older than I am forget it. And also after the "Z-downpayment foundation", will there be a " Z-insurance payment foundation" and then a "Z-gas money foundation".

Hey, I don't mind helping a Z lover like me but you have to be prepared for the other future costs of owning a Z.

Can't you find other ways to make extra money besides panhandling on a message board? Seriously.

If I'm going to donate to a charity, I'd like to at least get a tax deduction out of it!

At least no ones bashing me yet, you guys are great!

I am 22. I make an even $30,000 a year. My credit is so-so. I was in a credit counseling program a while back simply because of the awesome interest rates I was getting on the retail cards. When I got out of the Navy I had racked up lots of debt for stupid, immature reasons. Needless to say thats the main factor why I cannot get a Z right now without a hefty downpayment. I have $1000 towards one, but my bank requires a 10% downpayment which, on a Touring model, means I need around $3000. Anyhow, that is my perdicament!

And, If you clicked the Terrafirm-Media link, you will see that it is an actual site! I own a small web-hosting business. I don't do well - I make enough to cover the expensive server costs and maybe a little extra. But its a nice fast reliable server and I thought, if nothing else I could offer something to those of you who did have the compassion *and* the means to donate.

Here's what I suggest. Get out of debt first and build up your credit rating, and THEN buy yourself a Z. There's no reason you need one right away, and besides, stacking more debt on top of what you already owe will only hurt you in the long run. Focus on the essentials to support yourself, and then you can go for the luxury items.

Now, if you're already out of debt, then I apologize. It wasn't really clear from your posting above.

You know, with these kind of credit problems giving you downpayment money would be like buying a recovering alcoholic a drink or two.

Seriously, dude, MAYBE.... JUST MAYBE you should not buy a car that costs your annual salary ON CREDIT while you are still dealing with past credit problems.

I sincerely hope this is a troll.

If not, you need more counseling.

No base. If I plan on purchasing a Z, I plan to get a model that I can live with for at the *least* half of the term of any auto loan I take out.

As far as debt, I am almost nearly out of it besides a few residual bills. I currently have an aggressive budget worked out (including doubling up on my current 420/mo car payment) to pay off the rest of my bills. And yes, probably by spring I will not have a problem in getting myself a Z - even a Track version if it comes down to that. I am single and I have no one to support by myself.

Yes, this was a half-satire. I've never been one to ask for donations and the like. But, sometimes even silly posts like this receive compassionate responses - take a look at www.origamiboulder.com - the guy has what seems a really goofy, dumb idea but I can tell you he's making good money off of that.

If I *did* receive any money from someone on here, I would follow through on everything I said I would. If not, thats fine. I will get my Z eventually. Seriously, at least you guys are offering sound advice rather than bashing the crap out of this thread. That's more than a lot of forums out there.

"I make an even $30,000 a year"

My advice to you is always buy a car that is half of your yearly salary. Unless you have $15,000 to put down, I would put away the idea of a Z and get a car you can afford. You get a 30k+ car while making 30k a year and your credit problems have just begun.

Well, the deal is, I had a Mazda MX-6. In April of last year I bought a new Toyota MR-2 Spyder for $26K. And 2 months later I sold it - well tarded in - for a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon that I have now. I had a $4,000 rollover basd on what i received in a tradein.

So yea, I have begun to double-up on my current car payment (paying $840 a month) so that i can get it down.

One interesting thing to note - I currently pay $220 a month insurance for the Tiburon - the Z was $180 a month insurance.

Good move on your part. I still don't see what the hurry is to buy a Z, though, if you already own a car and it gets you where you need to go.

Still a bad move to buy a car whose price is roughly equal to your yearly income. That's a huge burden that I wouldn't want to bear.

For the exact same coverage and deductible?

Exact same coverage and deductible. A Corvette was the same amount on insurance, and the Z was cheaper. Go figure eh?

I simply have an issue with patience. Its hard for me to wait for something I want - a virtue I must soon learn!!

My donation better go to your Z fund and not your beer fund.

And if you decide not to get the Z I want it back. :P
