Possible to downgrade on a lease?
I think I might have to switch my Z for a lesser ride, hurts like hell to consider it now but it might have to be done, is this possible on a leased Z?

i do not believe you can, but you never know. why dont you ask the finance manager at your dealership if it is possible. i was able to do it, but i had the car for less than a day and had second thoughts about the payment. they allowed me to downgrade at that time. however, i am guessing you have had it for a while, so that makes it more complicated. they have so much fine print on those contracts.
but, yeah, i think your best bet is to just ask them.... they may be able to work something out. you may end up paying more to switch though, so it may not be worth it.

Leasing is essentially like buying in that once your sign on the dotted line, the car is yours and has depreciated already. In truth, what's happening is that the company that holds your lease (and it very well could be the same company that makes the car) has bought the car from the dealer and is leasing it to you. So aside from warranty/maintenance issues, it's out of the dealer's hands.
Pretty much the only way to switch would be to return the car early and take the early termination penalty, which may be costly. Whether it's worth it really depends on you and your financial situation.
