Hood sensor not available for base model?
I just done installing ground wires and I notice there is no hood sensor on my Z. So I check out my Viper alarm and it doesnt go off when I pop the hood. I notice there is no hood sensor to be found by the windshield washer unit. Did the alarm installer took it off and forgot to put it back or it doesnt come with the base model?
hmm... I thought there was a hood sensor. I had to remove it to install my ground wires. It's on the passenger side right by where the factory ground connects to the body. Maybe I'm wrong and it is something else.

Yes I got nothing there except the alarm siren, I suspect its either never there before since there is no bracket mark at that spot or the alarm installer took it off . Can anyone with 2004 base check ur Z for me plz.

Wow, it would be hard to believe that they took it off to put the siren in there and never put it back in, but that's almost what it looks like. If not, I guess the 04 doesn't have it but wouldn't it HAVE to be SOMEWHERE?
I would request to have your siren relocated if i were you. That wire that's grounded with the siren mount screw is the siren ground. If someone breaks into your car, they'll just pop the hood, and snip that wire. Your siren will just stop working and they will have all access to your car. Even if you have a backup battery installed the siren won't work without that ground. I think it's a good idea in the Z to hide the siren in one of the compartments (brake fluid area or battery area) that way it's out of sight and it would take longer than a few seconds to find it for an experienced thief, especially since you don't have a hood pin switch.
