I have ample head, shoulder and foot room.

Default I understand the problem

One of the reasons I bought the Z was that I couldn't fit well in my prior car with a helmut. I'm only 6'2" with 34" inseem. One thing I've noticed that is that many of the young drivers like to tilt their seats way back while driving. I'm not comfortable with that, and frankly I've never talked to any decent competitive drivers who sit that way.

If you can find lower seat rails it would be great. If anyone finds some that fit the 06 GT I'd love to hear it. I fit, but wouldn't mind another 1/2 inch or so.

I'm also curious about BurntZ's solution regarding the seat stops.

I was thinking the same thing. Most 32 length pants are high waters for me, and I'm only 6'2".

I'm starting to think your body build is different. If the top half of your body is longer than the bottom half, I can kinda see why your head may touch the headliner. And if you have a long neck also, that can be even worse.

Or maybe I just have long legs and a short neck.

I was going to input on this as well. I noticed that aftermarket bucket seats usually have a deeper stance than the factory seats.
[6'5" - and fit with helmet at track!)
(the dealer probably thought i was an idiot to bring the helmet when buying the car)
Thanks dude, im sitting here at work and I read that and I started giggling to myself in a quiet office. Everyone turned around and looked at me like wtf. LOL

I'm 5'7 with short chicken legs so I like driving close to the wheel to get a better feel for the clutch...when people see my seat position so close to the wheel they're all like wtf. You guys should be happy your all so tall.

I'm 6'4 and ALLLL torso, wear a 32 inseam and my head fits about 1/8 inch below the roof...damn perfect fit man....i got the seat dropped all the way down using the ***** on the left, seat all the way back, and the recline about 1 inch from as far back as it should go...

I think you should tweak the OEM options for the seat and just get used to it...I did

Thats got to be wearing pants homie style with them sagging past your ***. So what would a properly fitted pant length be. What is your actual measured inseam (crotch to heal)

Why can't you guys just take his word on it. I'm 6'5'' and I can tell you for a FACT some people shorter than me don't fit into a 350Z. To tell you the truth, my hair touches the top (at best) and I have a feeling when I get the car it might be more than just the hair....

His question is one I wanted to ask you guys on here, but nobody seems to have any answers....I know you can take out the stock seats and put in racing seats and stuff, so I'm guessing there's a way to put in a shorter seat.

But if anybody has a real answer please post, I think that's what he's looking for here, not asking what everybody's height is.

Is it possible to lower the framework on the bottom of driver's seat ~ 1-2 inches without compromising anything?
I think you just made up a new word.

Oh yeah and I'm 5'11

this doesn't make sense to me ..

I'm around 6'2" and wear 32 / 32 jeans and I got more than enough room in the 350Z .. got atleast 3 or 4 inches above my head .. and I got the seat up a little (not adjusted all the way down)

now getting out is a little bit of a roll and jump without kicking the steering wheel move .. but sitting in the car is perfect

try adjusting the seat (***** on side to lower it) or leaning it back a little ..

maybe a midget owned your Z before you and had spacers installed on the seat to raise it

I have read many posts over time that taller people have said they fit ok - when I test drove it, I sat there for 5 minutes (for real) to calmly try different seating positions and, the further back I recline, the more it throws my head into the down-slope of the roof line

Ugh..... is it possible to cut / weld / fabricate this seat lower??
So Willey, you still haven't lowered your seat. You leaned it back, but did not lower it? You need to get the seat as low to the ground as possible, not necessarily leaned back. That's how I got most comfortable in mine: start lowest seat setting, and then adjust the seat back.
If you have to lean it back and you find yourself stretching your arms, then think about getting a steering wheel extension. I wish I had one. That would be so cool. It would be like Super GT!
