didn't realize people bought Z's without the intention of owning forever. it has never crossed my mind to get rid of mine. i can't park, get out, start walking to wherever without turning around and admiring her for a few seconds.

I love my car to death. But I've come to realize its cheap interior has begun to really **** me off. Too many squeaks and creaks and rattles that I can't trace and stop. Once I pay the car off, I'm going to get something sport/luxury. A Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG is in the picture, and so is a BMW 335i. But if things go well financially, I'll get a pre-owned Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

For life
As many on here plan on keeping it as the fun car as long as it is not a burden. Once my altima calls it will get a Fit or something along those lines to supplement the Z. At this point, short of the GTR and the like, there is nothing out there that is worthy a replacement that a few mods wont achieve.

After I pay off my Z I'll be gutting it and turning it into a track only car. That's the plan. Let's hope the future girl in my life doesn't get in the way of that ha Maybe I should mention that early in the relationship.

I almost had to sell my 350z Roadster in August ......... Then I came into great luck, made it out of my little problem & I'm sticking with my plan to keep it forever! The outside is staying stock but under the hood......
I made the mistake of selling my 1994 3.4L Cutlass Supreme Convertible. I sold it for $10,000 to a friend 2 years ago & bought the 350z. Luckily he still has it & is willing to sell it back to me for $2000 with a rebuilt engine/tranny & a nice dent in the side!
I have learned from my mistakes & will never get rid of the cars I love!

I don't know about ME keeping the Z for life, but I'd like to keep it in my family. I was thinking about handing my 2008 Touring off to my nephew when he goes to college (in about 10 years) with the caveat being he has to learn how to work on cars before I'll hand it over. I figure that'll be a good incentive for him to learn how to fix cars (a skill every guy should have) and will give me the opportunity to spend some time with him showing him how to turn a wrench.

I do the exact same thing. I cant say that im going to keep it forever but i will have it until it starts nickle and diming me to death. I never really cared about its resale value
