go to kregans auto parts and buy a bottle of 3m. Take most of the gum out by hand, spray the 3m on gum and wipe with cloth.
It should come out

always start with the least abrasive first. Try Water and soap. If that doesnt do it, try clay. If that doesnt do it, try 3m swirl remover. If that doesnt do it, try "oops". Can buy "oops" in most hardware stores or automotive stores. Goes under names like goof off and stuff too I think.

******* people man. I hope the person that did that dies a slow painful death

What's up with all these people hating on your car?! First you got friends that just disrespect it... now you got ppl tossing gum on it?

I would just go around my office and anyone I saw chewing red gum, I would punch them in the mouth! j/k

Before you do any cleaning of the gum, first take ice cubes and hold them on the gum until the gum gets very cold. Once it is cold, you can pull off most of it as it loses its' "adhesive" qualities when cold. Then clean up the residual gum as suggested earlier.

My car is only 3-week new. I think I can write a book about all these little craps that ppl did to my car.

Did I mention my coworker saw the gum and she put her giant purse on the driver's side of my hood while looking for tissue papers? ****....these few days have been hell for me except the time that I spent in the car.

John, I suspect it was one of those ppl waiting at the bus stop. I am not aware of anyone in my office chews gum.

Wedge, thanks for your advise. It's a little too late now. I pulled out most of it with tissue paper. some gum residue is still on the hood
(slightly bigger than a quarter).

Try using a dawn/water mixture... I recently was able to get some tree sap droplets off my car with no problem with dawn.

damn...I think I might have damaged the paint.
I came home this evening and tried Dawn but it didn't work.
I then clay the gum surface for about 20minutes till the gum is gone. The surface was wet during the whole process. I let it dry but that spot turns out to be whiter.

what should i do?

you didnt damage it. I thought I damaged my paint too when I used Rubbing Compond on a scratch (scratch never came out either lol). When you looked at the area, it was obviously lighter than the surrounding paint.

Heres what you do. Take some Meguiars Step 1 and rub it in real good and buff it out. That will even it out again. Damn, I have all the answers

I can still barely see the trace of gum. but when i feel it with my fingers, it's flat.

I was a ****ing sticky piece of giant gum. I'm gonna check out those guys at the bus stop tomorrow and beat the hell of the guy who chews red gum.

Pucker up big boy

I never tried Z5 on my mark. I freaked out when the rubbing compound left a light spot on the area I rubbed. So, mixing a little bottle of Z5 and ZFX would of made me even more insane

Try the Z5 though, may work. Actually, the white you're seeing may actually be some gum residue. Regardless of what it is, Meguiars Step 1 will take it out.

GooGone will take it right off without hurting the paint.

Default DNA

Keep the gum for the DNA sample to nail 'em later. (I must watch too much TV.)

Alchohol dissolves gum, thats why when are chewing gum and drinking alchohol, your bubble gum will lose its elasticity quickly and turn to mush.
