Even though I'm technically on the defending team against you, I look forward to every one of your posts. Please keep dumping on those damn 16, 17, and 18 year olds. Someone's gotta keep me in line haha.

And regarding Volcom 350Z or whatever the hell his name is.. I jumped to his defense at first but this is looking more and more dim for him each moment. $30k brand new car at 17, and then taking care of maintenance, insurance, etc. in addition to that. Yeah right! I'm 18, make more money than you, and I'm barely willing to buy a $20k-ish 07-08 like I'm about to.

At your stated hourly rate of $15.50 per hour, take home pay is probably about 70% of that, so $10.85/hr take home pay. $30k/10.85= 2,816 hours worked just to pay for the Z. 1408 hours/yr, ~27 hours per week. AND it would have to be more hours than that anyway because you weren't making the $15.50 for the entire time you were working (unless that was your starting rate 2 years ago- not likely), not to mention that I can guarantee you didn't save every penny you earned. Not sure what you were doing at 17 but I was going to school and working a reasonable amount of hours. Math owns you.

God I'm pathetic. Did I really just spend the time doing that?

So you paid for the car with cash? Or was a check for borrowed money? What about maintenance? Insurance?

You pay for your own insurance?

What corporation do you own?

So the car belongs to the bank, and your parents pay for your insurance.

So.... What have you accomplished?

It really doesnt belong to the bank because in 3 weeks, my next payment the car is fully paid off for. I paid off my 08 350z at 18, I help pay the water + electricity bill, tv/internet bill, my cellphone bill, and the water+ electricity it self is 400 dollars a month that is pretty good accomplishments at 18 years old.

hmm at 18 years old yes it is, I live in a state where unemployment is the biggest numbers here. How much am I suppose to make at 18 years old I am still going to college, and I do not even have my bachelors degree. Do you expect me to make more than 30k at 18 years old? Everyone lets just drop the arguement, if you dont think I didn't pay for my car thats fine, that doesnt prove that you are correct. Why does it make you guys upset if I paid for my car or not. That doesnt impact your lives so stop being such drama queens , and get over it.

So for the last 2 years you worked 40 hours a week while finishing high school? I don't know what kind of clock you run by that gives you extra hours in a day, but I want it.

And spit on my face, huh? Congratulations on losing every possible ounce of respect that you had hope for on this forum. I'm "waisting" your time? Ah... I see how you made all that money now. You apparently didn't go to English class.

So what places do you work at?

I assume you live in an apartment, right? It'd be sad if you made 30k/yr and lived at home with your parents. It'd also be sad if you couldn't pay your own insurance since you're rolling in hundos.

fast? its a sports car ;p it shouldnt be driven like a granny for sure, otherwise i would have gotten a civic

No, definitely not. Mature people don't have big enough egos to argue on the internet about this imo, oh and start cussing at others. Talking big on the internet is pretty pointless, and people need to grow out of it. I know that people on here are arguing with you about this, but its more constructive criticism compared to arguing with you. Like jekl.

So I am sorry to not be part of that stereotype, but I grew up quickly. I hate to see this thread go to an arguement, but I hate when people judge me when they don't know me. I don't judge you, so you should not judge me.
Internet, I assume you have cable at about $40~ TV I'm assuming cable for about $50~ Cell phone bill for your family? $400 for electricity AND water, see now that puts you at what, 490 a month. plus gas, plus credit card statements on the food you buy and entertainment. Now you're 15, and you work at Six Flags as a cashier at $8/hr for what 40 hours a week? So you made about $900-1000 after getting taxed. Saved that up for a year and now you're 16 working at BJs/Outback and at a club. You have roughly $11000~ assuming you didn't spend a single penny like you said. For one, 15 years old is about a freshman in high school where you have a full time schedule of classes from 730am-2pm ? you worked 40 hours a week so you pretty much worked till 11? assuming you had a small break.. so that means you either stayed up really late studying and didnt have normal hours of sleep, or your school is just dumb and didn't assign any homework. So then you got a job at those restaurants "supposedly" as a 16 year old head cook with what experience? You make 30k a year and after taxes you're left with around $21k? So when you were 16 I assume you decided to buy a Z so you can drive around. you put a huge down payment since you're finishing your payment as 18. IF you put all 11,000 dollars down and had a 2 year plan with interest you're paying like $670~ a month just for your Z. So you're paying about $1300-1400 a month for everything. Now you're looking at around paying 17k a year. i just dont know. working 40 hours a week from 15-18 while still having a full time high school schedule, seems like you dont have time for anything else. 16+ hour days for 2-3 years. just doesnt seem realistic at your age. If it is, then kudos to you :] Cause I did 14 hour days for about 1 semester in college and it is just hard. sorry i was bored. hehe
