So I was heading home after work today and I get to a light and a bunch of morons inside some crappy dc2 that looked like it had a welded on muffler, stops next to me. I notice it so I just take a look over and see them gawking at my car with grins and laughing like theres something amusing about my car. Now my car doesnt look stock so I guess they didn't approve of my car or something which I thought was funny.

So they act like they want to have a go. So I hear them rev and I just sit and watch the show as I hear them pushing that thing to redline every gear only to slowly pull away from me ( I wasnt racing because the road there was bad especially their lane lol) so anyways they turn on their hazard lights and I crack up and catch up to them at the next light.

I tell the driver that I dont race on that road because its all f*&ked up (not to mention that you shouldn't street race ever). So he grabs his smoke takes a hit and throws it out the window and says "I know that ****'s gay right?" So then one of the stoners laying down in the back seat says "350?" I couldn't hear so the driver says "350 right?" I say "yeah" , so then he says "you should've gotten a 370" and then as he says that he starts to roll away so I just laugh.

then a few moments later my lane goes a bit faster so when I pass by him I say "you should've gotten a nissan" .

I just don't get these guys. Now I know there's people here who drive hondas so I know my comment up there might make me sound like I think hondas are crap and I don't. But thats not the first time a crappy one revs at me like they want a piece. So I just don't get these people , are they on crack or just unbelievably misinformed about the 350Z?

I came from a S2000 to the Z, and No it is the same in every community. There are douchebags that drive Z's as well. But I do agree there is alot more in the Honda community than there are in this one.

 

He has a point you cant generalize people becuase of the car they drive becuase most people who drive lifted cars are pretty cool then you have your jerks

I am pretty sure if the car didn't look like that, it would not have attracted that type of attention.
If the car was stock, they might have not even said anything.
If the car had a nice set of wheels and nice clean body mods to match the hood, the comments might have been "nice wheels" or "nice car".

The black wheel thing is getting so ridiculous that everyone and their mom is doing it and doing it all wrong. Painting stock wheels makes the car look cheap and yes... this applies to powdercoating as well.

the stock wheels from 07-08 look good already and I got tired of the shiny look, so I painted them and invested the rest in performance. I got a vented hood to help keep lower temps.
