Should I keep my Z?
i just went threw the same thing,i got my z on a dyno and was disapointed with the numbers so i test drove a 04 vette and imediatly i noticed the cheapest leather on the seats, the door panels were so loud when you close the door i thought i broke something.no room to realy put a nav in thier, got used to my cubby and the double din radio.the vette had so many rattles,i was shocked at how poor the inside was..its got speed for sure but the seats dont hold you in place when you take a corner i thought i was gonna fall out the window! ha ha..stick with the z.
Have both. Sell your house. I like vettes. People see a vette and say "That's a Vette, an American icon." People see a Z and they say "What the f*%k is that?" People know and respect Vettes... people are turned on by Z's. Comparing the two is a horse of a different color. I wouldn't ever have a Vette as my DD because of mpg but my Z comes with me every where. The three best/fun cars I've ever had/driven in order... 1)2004 BMW M3 ... 2)2005 Z ... 3)2001 Vette
"the first four generations of the Z®, which debuted in the United States in the fall of 1969 as the 1970 Datsun 240Z, have accounted for 1.38 million sales. The fifth generation Z®, the 2003 – 2006 Nissan 350Z, has already chalked up nearly 150,000 sales. Two-thirds of those sales have been in the U.S., where the 350Z has consistently ranked as the first or second best selling sports car in the nation and enjoys a nearly 20 percent share of the sports car market."
Not to mention those are cars sold facts.. not cars produced facts. You very well may be right.. but cmon dude. The "Z" brand is the best selling sports car EVER!.. even then after the almost 10 yr hiatus from the US market. Corvettes have just recently reached the 1.5 million vehicle mark..(since the 50's obviously). Car produced vs. Cars sold is a major difference.. not to mention that the Z is imported and not built in the US like the Vette.. was that figure total built including export models not to be sold in the US? So before you tell me that I dont know what the **** I'm talking about.. I've been looking at car stats for 11yrs working for Toyota and Lexus. Oh by the way you also might want to look up the Porsche Carrera 997 facts which were introduced 2004 and by 2007 sold 100,000 Carreras making it the best selling Carrera in history. So what your telling me is... a Vette and Porsche Carrera out sell a Nissan 350z(Z33)?
P.S..
I really hope you didn't go to Wikipedia and add up the production numbers.. they dont keep into account export models not to mention Vettes are ONLY built in the US.
dude, get a c6 corvette. i drove one the other day and wow, you're not getting power like that in a z without FI. you can pick up a used grandma driven one with like 30,000ish miles on it for about 25k or less. plus the aftermarket and power gains from a chevy LS motor are far superior to just about any other motor out there. full exhaust on an ls motor is like a 60hp upgrade! like WTF?!
