Red face Why is my Z beeping at me?

Hello,

I'm New to the forum. Nice to be here.

Purchased a 2005 350z Roadster at the end of May. It's been a fun car to drive, but am having some issues with the car beeping at me.

When I put the key in and turn it, it beeps (quite loud), then when the engine is started, it beeps again.

Then after about 30 seconds with the engine on...it beeps a third time.

I've noticed that the beep also happens when a cop is using a radar gun. And sometimes the beep happens when we're just driving along.

Any idea what the beeps mean? Any idea how to turn the beeps off? Or turn the volume down?

It's most frustrating when we're driving and it beeps for no reason.

Nothing that I saw in owner's manual. Called two dealers, and no one knows anything. I don't see any indicator lights on, etc.

Thanks for the help.

Ha, ha, ha!!!

Since your car is not likely to be any known Transformer you probably have a radar detector hardwired.

You should ask the previous owner about it if you are thinking to remove it from the car.

Good luck!

Nice, love a hardwired detector. If its illegal in your state/provice that would suck, if not you just got something extra along with the car.

is your tire pressure light on? if so, there are sensors in the tires and if there not all even in air pressure that first gage will show the tire air pressure and itll beep like that every once and a while till you fix it. mine was doing that.. not all Zs have the sensors, its an option.

Tire pressure sensors won't do anything until you start driving. OP hears the beeps as soon as he turns the key (power on to the device?).

+1 Definitely sounds like it...

only other thing I can think of is an aftermarket car alarm / remote starter, and the dealership only gave you the stock keyless remote.

You got a built in radar detector. The only other thing it could be is if your tire pressure or something was low it beeps like that. But when it beeps about tire pressure/low fuel it always flashes the indicator (where your digital speed read-out goes)
