Man, A lot of immature people hear. Tisk Tisk Tisk. Honestly the question is not to "broad", because a lot of the people,in my opinion, don't know there is three engine you can choice from. Example the Non-rev De model, the Rev-Up model that came out for 1 year, and three the HR. The HR is the one that people want the most out of 350z but for FI it really expensive. The best bang for buck would be the 06 because your close to the HR power but yet you can go FI a lot cheaper.

Again, what is this based on??? How is the 06 the best bang for your buck? It has oil consumption issues. How do you know the HR is the most desired? Stop with the opinions and try using facts. You have no idea what you are talking about and if you did a little searching on this site, then you would find the info you need.

Also, when buying a car, most intelligent people do their research first before they make the purchase. The internet is a great place to do research! There IS NOT a most desired Z. That needs to be determined by the person who is buying the car.

+1

I know most of us now with the Z cars we have would still take an 03 with what ever problems seeing that it's still a Z car...I thought that was the most desirable part...

The rev-up is NOT close to HR power. It's closer to non rev-up DE power than HR power, especially after you adjust for SAE standards changes. I can't argue with your opinion, but what I've stated is fact.

MY opinion is that the 03-05 (05' non rev-up) cars are the best bang-for-buck. You have access to cheaper cars because of the flood of used Zs on the market, more low-end torque than any of the other models, and the lightest of the models ever produced. My 03' wipes the floor with my friends rev-up 06' in straight line acceleration.

lol i didnt say this question was respectable.. Ive just realized a lot of the time when a good question is asked the thread will get locked or ppl will tell you to search search search. Some ppl on the forum needs to realize there are new owners. the Z has been here for 7 years, questions are going to get asked over and over again.. And to be honest, its nearly impossible to look through 7 years worth of posts to find exactly the info you need.

HMMM...my '06 doesn't drink oil...guess I just got lucky. I personally think that the '06 is a good value because of the widespread belief that EVERY '06 has oil consumption problems. The fact that it is widely accepted (true or not) means the market is softer on that particular model. I'm personally happy that this belief is out there...I got a very good deal on my '06!

As far as research...I agree totally. Get what you like and enjoy it. Do your reading, go into the dealership or to the individual prepared with the car's known issues and its value based on its condition.

i personally think the best z's are the ones that are fully modified but not too loud looking, a z that keeps the original Z look but still has a body kit on it. a good daily driver that you can go over speedbumps without having to make a complete stop, and obviously a Z with out cheap parts, because they definately stand out

I think if folks are genuinely interested in their hobby, they would be more helpful to newbies. This site comes across as one of the most immature forums I frequent.

Everyone here at one point or another was a "newbie". As a newbie you might not even know what questions to ask so why not give the person the benefit of the doubt? Because it's cooler to be sarcastic. Everyone has to start somewhere but on this site some have the enviable combination of narcissism and omniscience.

OP, there is no right answer to your question. From a value perspective the 03-05 models can be had rather cheaply which may depending on your budget allow you the satisfaction to personalize and upgrade the performance and esthetics of your ride.
