Question Are we getting the Z BEFORE Japan?

For some reason, the Zs are build and made in Japan. But I couldn't find any thing about the Zs releasing in August in Japan. Are we lucky enough to get the Zs BEFORE the Japanese?

What about the supposed horsepower cap for cars in Japan.? I know that it's only theoretical and that plenty of cars are way about the ~276, but most of them don't go out and blantantly state that.

The 280 HP caps in Japan are slowly coming off -- in the sense of posting official HP numbers -- but increments over 300 have been rare. A friend at Nissan told me that Nissan officially asked to the Ministry of Transporation in Japan about introducing a 400 HP car (about 1 year ago). The ministry quickly rejected this proposal.

That is why NISMO and other aftermarket suppliers are so popular.. what you do after you buy the car -- is usually ignored.

Regarding the introduction of the new Z.. the market for the new Z is firmly targeted at the US to renew enthusiasm for the Nissan mark. Secondary market is -- unfortunately for me.. Japan.

There is another recent example of Nissan introducing a new car model in the US before Japan ... the Q45 was released in the US before the same model (Cima) was introduced in Japan.

regarding the 280 horsepower cap in japan

automakers usually lie about how much horsepower is in their cars. the mitsubishi lancer evo vii is rated at 276 but actually makes around 300.

The 276 HP Agreement, otherwise known as the "Gentleman's Agreement," is no longer in effect. Then again, when you think about it, it never really was. The R34 GT-R, Supra Turbo, 300ZX TT, RX-7, etc were all supposedly '276 HP' ... I doubt it.

. . . And here I was thinking this was about the 370Z... It's a thread from 2002? That's whack.
