Default What are the first signs of tire feathering?

I have 2003 Z produced in 3/03. It has 3,650 miles on it. It appears the outer edge of my front tires are wearing down more quickly than I would like. Is this feathering? If not, what should I be looking for? Has this problem been corrected or do they just give you a new set of tires when you bring up the NTB?

Thanks all!

no. the inner edge is what you should be looking for... the tread blocks on the inner edge will begin to wear funny.. i think you dont have enough miles for them to show up yet.. mine didnt until 7k

Cool....I'll attribute the outer edge wear to taking corners at 70mph when the yellow sign says 30mph.

some people are showing signs of feathering at 2-3K miles (such as RodH i believe). Some people are saying outer edge, and most others are reporting inner edge.

Go to the REPAIRING forum, and you will see a looooooong thread @ the top about this issue.
