I've ruled out an 07-08. They're just too much money. And the only way I will go with the 06 I'm looking at is if they come down to close to 18. Ill know shortly, I'm at the dealer. I guess someone didn't communicate that I had an appointment because they took it to the porter. Its on the way back.

So, just got done with the dealership place.

They offered me "around 17. Between 17 and 18." for the 06. So let's just say $17,500, which is a lot better than $21,000.

He's also trying to find me a black one that fits my criteria.

Now I'm really torn.

ALSO:
The black one still isn't totally fixed. It's missing the splash guard under the passenger headlight, which is I'm assuming why moisture got into the headlamp and ruined the bulb. So they fixed the headlamp and replaced the headlight and the ballast so that's supposed to be fixed but they "couldn't find" a splash guard. Which is BS, because the dealer literally has them in stock.

at this rate no one will ever buy a used 06 and many great cars will be passed by. it will take a quick and inexpensive test to see if the 06 is burning oil, they just measure the levels.
and how is it that you've been driving an 05 youre considering buying for a week? a week long test drive?

So, I've done the paperwork on the 05 and all I was waiting for to actually buy it was for the dealer to get this part in to fix the headlight. I haven't given them any money yet. I literally waited a week without having the car, and I was getting pissed, so they said "Hey, you can take drive the car until the parts come in for the headlight." So I had it almost a week that I was driving it with one headlight out, until they called said the parts came in yesterday. So now, it's been fixed by the repair place, and is sitting at that dealer's lot(I called the repair place to check on it, they said they finished it and took it back to the dealer). Yet, the dealer still hasn't called to tell me to get it, which kinda blows my mind.

So right NOW, I don't have it in my possession, but I did for the last week or so.

I signed the paperwork on December 14, if that tells you anything about how much this place has been taking their time with fixing it. And they still won't fix the gas shocks that hold the trunk up(they're shot), or the peeling up tint on the drivers window, or the splash guard.

Of the two, I'd definitely go with the '06. However, part of that is because I've owned a black sports car before and found that I'm too lazy to maintain a black car.

Get the 06.. Cons are well worth the extra chedda. Sounds like the black one is in bad shape anyway. Ur gonna spend close to what you are paying for the red one fixing the black one. I would love to have a black z also but I would honestly take the red one over the black since it's in much better shape and the miles are low. If I were you and I didn't like the red one I would keep looking till you find exactly what you want. Mileage on these cars is the key, my 04 is nice but once you get into mileage over 50k you start noticing stuff; the engine runs weird, suspension starts to act up, etc... Your choice though

I'm not so concerned with that... My '95 PGT is black, so I'm used it. I'm just a black car kind of guy.

also, the new pictures:

The redline with the frost interior looks great. I vote for the red one.

red because you got the nice new 06 headlights and rear leds with brighter headlights than previous models less miles sure you have to pay a little more but the car will last you longer than that 56,000 mile black on red is nice an u will eventually love it but its ur choice but i would get the red one if i were you

Doesn't pop? I've gotten tons of comments on the color (I have a Nagaro Red), and my friends say they can spot my car from a mile, it's so bright.

Nah, nothing wrong with red or that interior color, I just dont think it's really what the OP wants. He's drooling over the pics of the first one I posted probably.

I'd wait for the new year (value should go down a little) and buy from a private seller (no taxes). The exact Z you want will come - maybe at a better price.

Well people, I appreciate all of your votes and your input, and I am now officially the owner of a 2006 Nissan 350Z in red, with 15,000 miles on it. It's being dated for January 1 for taxes.

Picture of it in the driveway right now:

I'll take better pictures tomorrow in the sun.

Thanks again! Can't wait to get to know you all.
