Smile First Mods to my Z - Stillen Exhaust and Gen 3 Intake

Hello all,

This is my first post, though reading through the postings has been instrumental in my decision. Stillen is running a sale right now; but the exhaust, get the intake. At a $549 value, I couldn't pass on it.

When it all shows up, I'll have a very busy weekend installing the intake, exhaust, stainless steel brake lines and "stealth" turn signals bulbs.

I'm an extreme DIYer and can't wait to dig into this project, as everything looks like it will be pretty straight-forward.

Wish me luck and thanks to everything for their helpful postings!

Not only do they fit (the VQ35HRs) 350zs, they also produce the most power at 20HP at the wheel (supposedly). Check out the info at Stillen's Gen 3 Intake website.. The major downside is having to remove the front fascia (bumper cover) to install and then subsequently to clean the filters.

Whatever an intake company claims for HP, take it with a grain of salt. A majority of the time you'll never see the gains they claim.

wow, i thought gen 3 intakes only fit 370z's. Are you the first person to do this mod on a 350? The website claims a dyno tested 20whp on 350z.

There's actually a few members on the forum that have them in their HR Z.

I think someone was getting a little over 10 once the front facia was put back on. Still, not bad.

I looked at other threads and 20whp from these intakes seems plausible.

I have the gen3 intakes on my Z. I haven't done a dyno run yet, but I did feel an increase in power on the car.

Man.. I didnt feel anything when I put my Injen exhaust on, maybe its because I never put the stickers on??? 20 HP to the wheels from just intake is sketchy. Reading all these postings from this forum many people can not attain 20 with Intake, Exhaust, headers, TP's. Unless they have a tune. Certainly not 20 WHP from intake. I always wonder if they find a plethora of cars, try their intake/exhaust or whatever product on them all and use the car that shows the most significant gains? Or they test baseline in shotty conditions Humidity, temp, elevation and then strap on their product and take it to below sea level in Siberia somewhere.

Well, I got the same deal (intake and exhaust) and it will be at the house tomorrow hopefully, but I won't be there for a few months. Will you be able to post the gains? I'm hoping to get the headers soon as well.
