Default F*#&^!$ snow!

We had like 18" of snow dumped on us in western PA the past few days and the plow trucks really suck! Every road i take i feel like i have to plow through snow to get to where i need to be. And being the 350z is my DD its agonizing driving

I'm praying to god that after this winter i'm not going to have little scratches all over the front bumper and side from the snow and what ice is starting to form

I know what you mean. New York weather sucks too. However, we got lucky and haven't had much snow ever since the last snow storm. I don't dare take out the Z when there's snow on the road becuz i'm still riding on my potenzas and THEY SUCK on wet roads.

Are you riding on snow tires? If so, what kind?

the stock tires are all-season, neither quiet as summer or grippy as winter; if you live in hot climates in south, get summer, if temperate but prone to some slushy snow, all round.

but if you live in 4 season climate, you should switch tires for those winters.

FWD can get away with summery tires in winters; I was in W. Mt. for years that way but RWD doesnt have that engine weight over the drive wheels.

Certainly, this isn't a downside of parents buying their children sports cars as their only car?

Easy fix. Buy a beater. Can't afford one? Shouldn't have gotten the Z.

I agree. If you live in an area where it snows you should either have a beater to go along with your RWD car, or an AWD car as your DD. Fortunately it never snows here, so I own 2 RWD cars

My first "mod" was a beater. Best thing I have done for my Z so far. 2nd was buying a shed to empty garage to store the Z.

The stock tires are Summer tires, not AS.

Yea man, I was about to say... The first snow I had my Z in was on the way home on Thanksgiving. My foot twitched and I spun it right around...definitely not all-seasons, lol.

It is difficult to have a sports car and keep it in good condition if it is a DD.

Best thing to do is get another vehicle. IMO a 4X4 with lots of torque can be just as much fun as a sports car.

I don't believe the stock tires are all season. They are high performance summer tires. Even the manual tells you to switch to either all season or winter tires if you are going to experience winter weather.

I ran my Z as a DD the last 3 years here in Ohio and are weather gets pretty crappy. I run snow tires and this year was the first year with the Nismo diff. I also went to lowes and for $3.50 a bag for sand. Put 5 bags in the trunk, I will have to say its been a blast driving in the snow this year.

I'm having a ball this winter in the Z. Its my daily, and I picked up some stock wheels with Blizzaks, so driving hasn't been too bad. I go out to the garage a couple of times a week with a couple buckets of warm water and give it a good cleaning. Haven't seen any damage yet.
