Default Powder coated or painted?

I have a 2004 CS Performance model. Are these rims powder coated or painted? Reason I'm asking is the dealer scratched mine up and repainted them and I know paint is no where near as durable as powder coating. I'll be bringing it back to the dealer on Fri because the took the weights off the rims to paint it and painted over the double sided tape and didn't rebalance the tires.

Nice . . . . these guys are our Nissan professionals right . . . I'm not sure what comes from the factory, paint or powder coat, but I had two of my rims powder coated after my dealer scrapped them - the finish looks identical to the oem.

why do dealers scratch our rims.
I've heard so many people say that and I am afraid put on new tires when it's time to do so.

spoke to a guy at a wheel shop, he said they are painted, not only painted, but painted in europe, where they can use a lead base, so that if wheel damage occurs, paint matching is almost impossible. my girlfriend has a g35 coupe and she scraped the front wheel, he machined the scratch out, yet, the finish on the wheel was marginal at best. i dont know if his info is valid, but thats the story i got.

I believe they are powder-coated with a clear polyurthene coat.

They scratch them when they use that machine to remove the tires, You know the one where that bar is attached to the machine and sits just inside your tire and rotates to remove the tire from the rim.

I had mine powder coated a different color. I was under the impressionthat the original wheels were powdercoated silver.

Why would Volk (Japanese) send wheels to Europe to be painted?
