Hey guys. My names Ricky. I drive a 2003 350z 5AT. My cars only got a CAI, HKS catback, 5/16" spacer, mrev2, and an ECU flash. The past few weeks ive raced a few G37s, all having the same outcome. In total, there were probably 15 pulls. Off the line they hold even through first gear, then my second gear pulls about a car length. My third gear holds them one car back, and my 4th pulls up to about 130mph before they cut out. From 40mph rolls in second gear i pull a car length and then stretch the distance once i hit 4th. The first time i raced one which was last week i assumed the guy just couldn't drive very well, but the one from last night shifted on point with the same result.

This isn't a kill story by any means. i have a ton of Z/G love, i just don't believe my car with the current setup should be able to beat a properly driven G37 coupe from a roll or a dig. Any insight?

 

your mods plus the tune attributed to this... were the g37s stock? If yes, there's your answer

Not surprised cos i when i went to a trackday i managed to keep up with a G37 on the long straight. He has FI catback as mod.
I got just about the same mods without the tune as the OP.

 

Weight da. Also how heavy were the drivers compared to you and car weight. That can make it or break it.
