An 05 G35 Sport Coupe next to a 05 350z , ask 100 random people who dont own Zs

I say 60/40 in favor of the G35...

I owned a g35 and anyone over the age of 20 liked the G better .... My G35 had 290hp to the wheels and ran a 13.5 at the track, 2003 ... Never took it beyond 1/4 mile track but with full suspension and sways it felt just as good as my new 370z and my brothers 350...

actually if you need to find out which leather conditioner or carpet cleaner works best, Driver isnt a bad option.

I think these lines are near perfect for a car, more so than the g37s .... And i dont hate on Zs at all, i own a 370z my brother owns a 03 grand touring PPW ... that was my 2003 G35 coupe with 110k miles on it just before i traded it in

I wouldnt look at is as a down grade or upgrade rather the " other option"

Its the same car, down to motor , tranny, seats, heated seat switches, other than 3 gauges on your dash the Z is a G without a backseat... or vice versa how ever you want to put it

you cant say the Z is a better car, their practically the same thing..I've had both cars, the Z is more sporty, and the G is luxury sport thats all. when i get in a Z i feel like i wanna rip around the corner, in the G you just wanna keep in third just in case.

I had the choice to get a Z or G after my accident.

Chose the Z cause I'm a college student and don't like driving people around lol. No one chips in for gas anyway, so my decision was easy.

Haha, I'm kidding, that's not the only reason why I got the Z. The G is definitely more practical and if I had a family and more responsibilities (driving people such as my boss around) I would rather be seen in a G then a Z.

Actually, they do. You can put for wheels/tires on the back seats and still have a trunk for gear.

G35 coupe is not a downgrade either imo...

I have a 370z and while its faster than the g37s , It still would be an upgrade to hop into a loaded g37s from the 370z ...

Cars more money, its a downgrade in people eyes but as far as price goes its an upgrade.
I miss mine a lot, too. It was such a well-rounded car.

As the Gs got newer so did there interiors where Z stayed the same...
Agreed on all points. And to add to that, Infiniti's customer service in both their service and sales departments are light years ahead of Nissans. At our local Nissan dealerships, you have to arrive at 8am for service and no appointment is necessary. They could have your car for a day or 3 days. Even with an appointment, you have to bring it in the morning and wait in their line since there would be others ahead of you for check in (even when they don't have appointments). Infiniti appointments were held to the minute, and the staff was much more technical than their Nissan counterparts. Salespeople did not sit outside smoking cigarettes, and most wore ties - again, unlike Nissan.

It absolutely is not. The G was in the tops list for resale value for years and the cheapest to insure. The Z is the opposite in both categories.

There are huge auctions around here, so there are a lot of this dumpy dealerships that pick up auction cars, barely speak English, then offer them up for sale at a premium. It's likely that he overpaid instead of buying privately, though I'm just guesstimating on that given my G35 shopping last year.

I see nothing wrong with getting a G over the Z. For daily driving I would prefer the G over the Z because it's more practical with the back seats and larger trunk space. For all out track driving the Z wins

Did the G35 ever have an HR in it? Not trying to derail, just curious.

For me, I wanted the Z since they were introduced. Something about the look, inside and out, coupled with the Z legacy. When the 370's were introduced, I bought my '08 Touring. I like the 350Z (especially the 06 - 08) more than the 370Z.

What's my point? Simple... different strokes for different folks.

The coupe never had the VQ35HR. It went straight from the DE to the VQ37VHR. The sedan got the VQ35HR in 2007 IIRC.
