I don't care if people here dont like the fact that I am getting the Z at age 17. I'm going to pay for it, you dont have to believe me if you dont want to. I go to the #2 public high school in California (California Academy of Math and Science), which is way harder than going to college. So I'm a Senior in high school and work almost full time, plus stuff I have to do with family. I think I'm working my *** off more than other people. Just so you know, my WHOLE paycheck is going towards the car. Yes, my parents are the ones who feed me and put a roof over my head. Do I have to live on my own in order to deserve the car? I think not. I've been patiently for a car for over a year and a half. Insurance is going to be cheap in my opinion. I got a quote from AAA of around $175 per month by adding the car and myself to the policy. Car payment should be around 500 to 600. I also want to apologize since my parents are going to help me with gas money. Maintenance and repairs could be done by my dad and I, if not, they I apologize again if my dad shall pay to take it to the dealer. I hope everyone is satisfied. Even if I deserve the car or not, I'm still getting and dont give a f what others say since I know that I'm working my *** for my 350Z.
I stand corrected. I'm certainly impressed. I know I wouldn't have been able to do that when I was in HS. Good luck with the car!

Cerritos Nissan sucks. They force you to pay $4000 for chrome wheels, 600 for pin stripes, 450 for a car cover, etc. I didnt want the '80's style pin stripes so they were going to charge $600 to NOT have the pin striping. If you dont buy all these options, they wont sell you the car.

It is a different world my "older" friends. A very different world. When we (I) were 17 I was working just as hard to get into college and eventually into med school. Many of today's kids feel that if they do basically what they are SUPPOSED to do, they deserve a car like this (or a BMW). You see, in my day (the early 80's), all working hard in school and working a job at the same time got you was into the next level. No one who did this expected (or felt they deserved) a sports car.

Today, it is different. And don't get me wrong guys, I'm not aiming only at the teens on this board since most of you seem to be good, hard working, solid kids. It's just that your peers seem to think that the world OWES them this stuff, simply because you do what we (my age group) did because it was expected of us.

ICY, if you are earning the $ to pay for this car at 17, God bless you! But who is going to pay for college? Wouldn't it be more noble of you to buy a cheaper car and help your dad pay for your schooling? Or do you feel that since you are working hard (trust me, a lot of us did already) you DESERVE this car and your tuition as well?

Good point Bonz. But I think with his grades and academic sucess, he can get enough scholarships/awards to cover his tuition to most colleges. I see where you are coming from though, and like you yourself said, times are changing.

I want to thank all those who support me. I guess some people do understand the things I'm going through.

I was not in the pre order program, just on the waiting list for cancelled cars. I couldn't do anything about it since my parents went out of town right after they called anyways.

Something else came up, after meeting a new girl at work, I kinda need a car with a back seat now. Any suggestions? I can't think of any other cool car, so I guess the passengers side seat will have to do.

LOL, no. Having the weekend without parents was cool since I had the whole weekend to myself. I guess I'll have to find a way to do it in my 2 seater or another place when parents are around.

I think a very appropriate car for someone in your position in life is an Acura RSX-s (very nice car indeed!) or a Subaru WRX (fast as a motherf...reminds me of Z32 turbos.)

These are great cars, with awesome performance or luxury and have decent price tags. Even better it you go 1 year used.

I had an RSX. The backseat is useless for things like that... What you need is an SUV. I used to have a Pathfinder, and you can fold back the rear seats...and...

You know, it's really not that hard in the passenger seat. Just push the seat all the way back, recline the seat. have your friend sit in the seat, assuming the position. Then, just get on your knees on the passenger floorboard, and voila! you're in the perfect position for...um...

Both are great cars....but the price is just SOO close to that of a base 350...

LOL! You guys crack me up! Yeah, well there are many nice cars on the market, but it all seems to point to the Z. Best bang for your buck. OMG, http://www.waynewmedia.com/350Z/ , I love the friggin pics, I wish a cancelled silverstone performance came to Cerritos Nissan for me. I hope the Z God is listening to me right now!

Hey! No matter what age we are, we are still men. Men need... hahaha, I'm not going to finish. Just because most of you have a special someone by your side each day, living happily ever after. I say lucky you.

Ha. Actually, I feel bad that the whole time in this thread that you're SO psyched about the Z and explaining to everyone how much more mature you are and how much you love this car, and how hard you work to pay for it. Well, then you tell us that you're going to drop your "dream car" to get a car with 4 seats just so you can have a backseat to do your dirty work? C'mon now. I still think you're a very responsible 17 year old, and I can understand exactly what you're going through right now, because I did the same thing at 17. I think it's awesome that you have your heart set on something and you're going to get it. Then you turn around, and say you need a car with a back seat (in the same thread, only a couple days later) and you're backing out of the z, or at least thinking about it. It seems like now, your heart is more set on this girl you just met, and that's a shame. Keep your long term situations in sight as you work on your short term situations. That's all I was trying to say. Good luck with your decision.

You feel bad?

What about me?

I brought it up first, and I get a "Are we not Men?" reply. When Jill comments, now you feel bad.

I think this is typical of young men such as yourself - gotta be 'tough' around 'the boys', but willing to show your senstive side when a woman comes by.

I just got off the phone with Kathy at Cerritos Nissan. She agrees with me, and your name is now on the "Waiting for a 2003 Sentra" list.

I think he was being sarcastic. But, hey, I might be wrong...

Damn...unreal that you would all judge someone based on their age. Icy is a lucky cat to be getting this car at his age, but in no means doesn't deserve it less then the rest of us because he is younger, or doesn't pay rent or blah blah blah. Seriously, everyone needs to not pass judgement. As long as he respects the car, doesn't drink and drive, and doesn't show off, Icy will be fine. He has made a decision to work hard to get something he wants. Those of you with Kids and/or are married made a similar decision, you wanted a family and are going to work hard to make it work. Good luck Icy, I hope you get your ride. Oh and p.s. I think he was joking about the backseats. Ya'll need to lighten up a bit.

P.S. That comment on Cerrittos Nissan is ********. PIN STRIPES? CAR COVERS? WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? They treated me GREAT AND gave me $1000 OFF of MSRP for their HOTTEST car Nissan has ever produced for the states and I didn't even preorder, when they could've easily sold it to someone else for way more $$$. , so take your crap else where. Sounds like some Troll Dealer who can't get the $5K over msrp he so desperatly wants.
