Where is this button?
I have an '03 Touring model with the traction control and the stability control VDC or whatever it's called. I have found the traction control button, but where is the VDC button to turn it on or off? Is there even one? Thanks in advance.
Mine is below and to the left of the steering wheel, just beside the hood open lever. Isn't traction control the same as the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control)? I have a VDC off light that comes on when I turn the VDC off, but I never drive with the VDC off. I only pressed it just to see if anything on the dash changed--I am guessing Nissan's engineers want this on all the time.
The VDC button in located just about the gasoline door open button. It defaults to on when you start your car. It is there to turn the system off for a reason. With the DVC on any wheel spin will cut power to the engine. So if you are stuck in mud, etc. you need to let the wheels spin and not cut power to the engine. Also if you are racing than you would also shut off the VDC so your engine does not loose power in a spin. Races want their wheels to spin for many reasons. Like in drag racing to warm the tires and in street racing to slide around corners. If you want to hall *** then turn the system off. Many people on this web site have had there permanently disabled.
if yours says TCS off and not VDC then Im gonna go out on a limb and say you have an automatic, meaning you dont have VDC. if you do have a manual touring, then you do have VDC and the button should say VDC as well as the dash saying VDC off. this disables both VDC and TCS at the same time.
