Default Update

274,xxx
Starting to show a little age finally. :-(
Still looks new and drives well but using at least 1qt. per 1,000 miles for the last year so i recently decided to go 4,000 per oil change. Low end torque feels down but high rpm power seems ok.
I'll just keep taking care of her and see how long we can go till it stops running. Cannot afford (or refuse to pay) the ridiculous cost of a new vehicle these days. And on top of that none of them are what i would ideally want anyway so the cost could never be justified. Still love my car just fine. I'll have to start investigating used or rebuilt engines someday since that would be a LOT cheaper than a budget budget V8 swap. Z's sure are built to last though!

just rolled over to 126,000 miles.

can't lay all of the miles to me though
when i bought it- had 102,00 on the odometer in dec 2016.(it was one owner prior- and all services were done at same dealership where purchased at, heck- when i changed the oil- it had a nissan oil filter)

(and for those impatient types- the below chronicles what i've had happen, and have had to fix and what i am planning for....)

so far as i have owned it only "problems" i have had to deal with...

bought new set of tires first thing

the outside door handles stopped working at different times-but easy fix (had read about that fix here)

once noticed the radiator temp rising more when doing a lot of stop n go driving, idling etc- turned out- needed a new radiator cap,and a real good bleeding of the coolant system (all done at the 120,000 scheduled maint.)

cold weather this month- had to change out the hatch struts-got tired of holding up hatch with head

so- mods/changes/add ons/etc since i bought it?
the metal engine undertray, the metal fly wheel undertray, the metal radiator gap cover, sub box speakers amp and cap, but kept original Bose speakers/head unit
bought a set of wheels- (Rays Track V1s) from a member here -and got a set of tires to fit them
replaced the front nose due to the 100,000+ miles of wear and tear, painted nose, hood, front fenders for same reason

manditory but not needing immediate attention- replacement of lower steering knuckle joint and rear dif bushing...(doing as much research into what other stuff can be replaced during said jobs)

future plans- getting the set of wilwood brakes i have sitting here installed and really digging into research on HFCs and true dual pipe exhaust...

Bone stock 2003 with original engine, 6 speed and rear end. Family purchased by Dad in 2003 and been my daily driver since 2012. Burns half quart of oil every 1000 miles using 20w-50 dino oil. Got 245,000 miles out of the original clutch and only replaced that because of a worn/chirping throughout bearing.
