Part the car and sell as stock OR sell as is?
I bought this car new, its been 3 years and it's time to upgrade. So the baby needs to go, should I part the car and sell it as stock or as is?
I prefer to just sell as is, less of a headache. Thoughts?
Invidia Q300 x-pipe exhaust system, 4.083 gears (final drive), Injen Dual Intakes, Uprev ECU Tune (tuned by licenced shop), high quality carbon fiber front + side and rear skirts, eibach springs, eibach adjustable cambers, 20" black staggered Axis wheels on Nitto tires.

seriously?? I just paid mine off a few months ago 07. I just now get to save money for mods. WTF? lol.
It looks good. See what you can get private party for the car with or without. List it up both ways. If someone offers you decent for the stock, take it and then just sell what you can from the non-stock.

For the rest of us mere mortals for whom money does matter, we wouldn't be selling a car we bought new 3 years ago and then modded the crap out of of. Then, when we were going to sell the car, we would take the time to put the car back to stock and sell off the parts. We could then get more money for a stock car in good shape, plus the value of the resold parts.
BTW, that is a very nice looking roadster.

Do some searching and you'll see that the common advice is to return it to stock. Selling a modified car is tough, you're not going to easily find somebody who shares your same tastes. You'll get decent money for the parts and stand a better chance of selling the "stock" car in the end.

personally, i'd part it out and sell it stock. i put my mazdaspeed6 back to stock and made a few thousand off all the parts. Are you going to be trading it in to a dealership or sellling privately? If I were buying a car from a private seller i would want it all modded out. Wheres the fun in that? So either way in my eyes parting out is the best way to go.

Look at the auto trader and see what the asking is for Z Roadsters in the GTA (which are stock). Then compare that to mine and you get 2-3K higher asking from me and get over 15K+ in upgrades and one unique Z.
But I do see you point, however the 20K+ difference in price is a lot.

In my opinion most people would rather have a 370Z coupe than a 350Z Roadster (which they can get from the price your asking). In your case, your only going to be attracting someone who wants a convertible and only a convertible. Even then, at that price, why wouldnt someone go for a Porsche Boxster? The price your asking is just too high for a 350Z, no matter what you have done to it. Your basically attracting a very small market. Sell the car stock. Thats just my opinion.

here's a real life story to help..
I had a 99 eclipse gst. When i decided it was time to part ways, book value with my mileage was $7,400. I sold off $4800 in parts, then sold the car $7000. Granted, I had alot more money invested in my dsm than what's invested in your Z, and in the end I still lost a ton of money (the price we pay to play) but I think you get the idea...financially, its worth the headache of returning to stock

Wow, your car looks like mine on steroids! Seriously, I think you've modded it well.
However, you're going to take it in the shorts to sell. The buyer won't want to pay more than $1,000 over local average, I suspect. Even then, I'm not sure.

The parts you have will sell quick so do it private. All the dealer is gonna do is give you book or less and wholesale the car out. Along the way someone will strip the parts they want to either sell or keep for themselves so why should they make $ on your stuff strip it and sell it. The only thing that will be a pita is the rear diff. Biggest pita with private part sales is flakes and people that show interest but have no intention on buying.Hope you were smart and kept your stock parts
