Question any updates on a bike rack for the Z?

Has anyone tried any of the units available? (Bird Automotive, Delta Hunch, or any others) Any reviews?

Lets not turn this post into buy a truck to put your bike in, or the Z looks ugly with a rack on it.....Thanks.

Smile I would like to know too

I haven't missed riding my mountain bike since picking up my Z a few week ago, but I would like a way to transport my bike with my Z.

Any suggestions on a bike carrier would be great!

thanks,
low

I saw one on a Z a few weeks ago at the beach. I don' t know what kind it was and he wasn't around to ask (and I didn't own a Z at the time either) but it looked to me like he had kinda juryrigged one of those kinds that strap on the back glass of an SUV to sit on the hatch of the Z. It was steeply angled (of course) and the bikes were carried very parallel with the ground but it looked like it worked.

I have talked with Delta about thier Hunch Rack (I think this is the rack I am going to buy)....they emailed me the modifications on what was needed to make it work on our Z's. If anyone is interested send me an email (mark@landspeedracing.com) and I will foward the instructions to you.

I think I would rather have the bird auto rack but it is $450 with the locks and shipping...the delta is about $150-$175.

The Bird Automotive rack has attachments for skis, snowboards, and golfclubs...

I used to work at a bike shop and the Hunch Rack was a quality set-up. They are designed for cars with "odd" rear ends like the Z, and the Beetle. It's a fork mount setup with the fork near the roof. Haven't seen if they have made any changes in the last year, though. I still get a deal on my stuff from the shop, as I was Asst. manager for 3 years, and head mechanic. If anyone is interested in getting a bit of a deal, PM me and I'll get you a price. I can easily ship from my workplace. We send stuff out daily.

Default BIKE RACK

Saris (graber) claims to make a roof mount rack that will work with it. I called to confirm that it wasn't just a mistake on their website and that the rack was actually tested on a 350z. They confirmed it will work.

I'm in the same predicament. Yakima doesn't make a rack to fit the Z. I'll need to check the Saris Website.

Check out this post, and maybe PM him.

i remember someone saying a long time ago that their bike with the front tire removed fit into the hatch area. i guess you've probably already tried that tho.

I just bought a Delta Hunchrack for my Z. Unfortunately, Delta's hard drive crashed, and they no longer have the modification instructions for the 350Z. If anyone here has the Hunchrack, could you please post or PM me the mod instructions? Thanks.
