That's how scammers weed out the stupid - someone sees a $15-20K car selling for less than $4K and paypal's a deposit right away.

Then the guy keeps the $ and disappears. Place CL ads in all regions and sit back and wait.

I dont understand why people do this though. If anyone was interested in it and went to see the car, wouldn't they think "hey this isn't the car I saw online"

Doesn't matter if it is a straight scam... once they get the money from pressuring you they are gone. It could be a little as a few hundreds dollars as a "deposit". I would imagine most of the time they have no intention of showing the car.

Ya but cragslist is meant for local sales only. It's not like ebay where you have stuff shipped. I would never buy anything off craigslist without seeing it in person first. I don't care if it's worth $20

They tell you the car is in some far off location, but they'll ship it to you for free.

Well if anyone is stupid enough to believe that, then they deserve to get screwed. It's like falling for the Nigerian craigslist scam.

These guys do this and only post an email address, so people email them, and then they sell the email addresses they collect to spammers, and advertisement agencies.

I like how he claims to be an E-6 in the email body, but then his signature line is for an E-5.

Roffles.

I have buddies in Alaska. I might have 'em look up the name Bridger Morris to see if this ******* is either using his name, or is actually HIM.

I found the real guy. Sent him an email with a link to this thread and a CL ad with his name.

He's not in Alaska, though. I bet he finds this very interesting.

When I see an ad like this on craigslist I like to email them and tell them what an incredible stroke of luck. I am also currently in XXXXX location and can deliver the money in person. What is your address? I've never heard back from anyone though...

Looked this guy up on the global email list. He doesn't appear to be in the Air Force either, from what I could find.
