Default Beware of possibly fake Ebay listing (Brembo calipers)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...item41548e8834

Pics dont match up, he has 2 pics of the nissan sentra brembos, and 1 of the g35 brembos.

0 feedback history, extremely cautious description, you will notice the word "fraud" a lot.

Just a heads up for anyone in the market.

It also says they came off a 2007 350Z. I thought 2006 was the last year for Brembos?

the nismo had brembos up to 2008

so technically brembos can come from the 350z 03-08 production year.

One other note is that it looks as if one person is just bidding to raise the bid.
I was recently burned on ebay on a set of brembos so scammers are definitely out there. Thank God for ebay protection.

it seems that scammers are now getting smarter and asking for real rates, doing a buy it now at 500$ would seem as an obvious scam but an auction that ends over 1200$ looks legit yet its fake

Just make sure you dont forget to file a claim within 2 weeks to be on the safe side and ebay/paypal will refund your entire purchase.

I hope this thread helps my350Z members in safe bidding.

I'm not sure it's a fraud, but would have trouble sending $ to anyone with zero feedback, just on general principle. Usually the scammers want to communicate through a direct email address, rather than through eBay, and try to encourage other payment methods than PayPal. I need a set of these, and if the seller had a history, I might have been a bidder.

Really? The seller is claiming that the pictures are calipers from a Nissan 350z when they clearly are not. That's fraudulent.

Oh, I just looked at the auction listing and didn't expand the image you posted. That definitely changes things. Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. I didn't know Sentra's even had a Brembo option.

Thanks for the heads-up OP

+1 on not buying anything from someone with -0- transactions on ebay or itraders here.

I wouldn't mind buying something from someone with "0" transactions as everyone has to start somewhere, but I would only do the deal COD. I just had a member here with "0" itrader and he insisted on paypal and told me that FEDEX would not do COD. I couldn't do the deal.

Now he has 3 $1 transactions.. what he is doing is buying from vendors that give automatic instant positve feedback once you pay for a item over ebay. He doesnt really want these items, just the feedback he is getting from them. Its like he is buying his way up to a positive feedback. what a loser

He probably bought them from somebody claiming they were 350Z calipers and is making the same claim. That's why he can't/won't verify them.

The auction has been closed for hours. Besides, eBay has a great "item was not as described/pictured" policy.

I called eBay to report the auction and I emailed them as well hence my detailed pics I posted here as well. I called them to resolve my case and asked them about this item as well. I'm glad they listened.

I also used the report item feature within the auction since I saw it last night

Btw here are some details about my scammer

User arasperformance

Sold many z parts, all fakes

Used only eBay to send messages, probably so I couldnt trace his ip. All emails would trace to the eBay server

He even wanted to ship them to my Canadian addressa for even more cash. Seemed like a good seller.

So beware of any sellers that are too cooperative.

I paid right after the auction ended
He then said they will be shipped within 24 hrs just needs to clean and pack all of the parts

I emailed a few days later, no reponse.

I then told him i am filing a claim if he doesnt respond so I did.

Escalated case 7 days later
Received funds 3 days later

Total start to finish was about 14 days to get my money back from the time the auction ended.

Try to be as quick as possible with claims so you don't even come close to the 45 day limit.

Legally you can start a claim within 45 calendar days of the payment but I would suggest 14 days to be a sign of worry. 20 days would be tops. That way you can get everything solved within 45 days to be on the safe side.

If you wait longer than 45 days to file a claim you are SOL even if it is a pure scam. These rules also apply to forum purchases that take place over paypal.

Hope that helps

The seller is now trying to sell outboard engines lol

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Two-U...#ht_1950wt_948

I need to get to my pc in the morning to report that auction too.

Its funny how each engine weighs almost 500 lbs and hes offering shipping for 200$ LOL... it costs more than that to ship brake calipers. Can you imagine the rates to ship almost 1000 lbs

REF: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard.../63/specs.aspx

What a tool

BTW guys

here is the seller that tried to scam me on the brakes

http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/arasperformance

Here is their feedback now in the interval of scams which included my brake calipers, all looked like legit parts at the time. Im leaving my negative feedback now. I think this was maybe a hacked account that once belonged to a legitimate ebay user.

Personally, it'd be worth getting scammed a few dollars, just to walk-in on this person on the computer.

Why are police busy harrassing people for going 5 over when they could be making city funds off wastes-of-oxygen like that arasperformance?
