The year is far less relevant than the mileage. When I buy used cars, I look first at mileage and almost ignore the year (except for the strange years in Nissan Z history like 2006). That's why I bought a 2003 - it had 10,000 miles on it and smelled new inside. The car market prices cars by year first, so if you go old but low miles, you get great value.
Personally, I wouldn't touch a car with more than 120K miles on it no matter what the price, because you'll pay in other ways. It isn't that the car doesn't have life left, but you're into what I call the Dark Years of the car where everything that breaks is expensive and happens more often.
Find a nice 2003 with 20K-40K miles on it for $10,000-$12,000 and you're good.

Thanks, I'm looking for something to rebuild anyway, but trying to find a reasonable price to pay for the car, and if I can get it for 5K then I guess that is good enough for me.

Oh well if he is lying then it is he's loss, as I was willing to pay him around 5K.
Well I have 2 350z already so this was just another project to have after them plus I'm pulling the engine in one of them soon so I could have used it as my daily until my new engine come

it better be cheap!!!! and you better start saving for getting EVERYTHING replaced. good chance to get a built block. if you got the money and another car to drive. do it!
