Default The wait has begun...

I recently sold my S2K and was in the market for an E46 M3. However, it was taking too long to find the right one and I started to get impatient with spring fast approaching. I wandered into some threads with turbo 350Zs, and well, how could I resist?

I found a great deal and pulled the trigger on an '04 Greddy TT in Redline a few days ago, and it got picked up by the shipping company this evening. It should be delivered within the next 3-5 days. Here's a sneak peak:

I plan on doing little things to it, such as taking the eyebrows off right away, but otherwise it has practically everything I need. I had a PPI done before I purchased it and the mechanic said it was well above the condition that it should be for its age and it's apparent that it was properly cared for. I can't wait to join the community!

Main mod list:
Built short block with Pauter rods, Wiseco pistons, ARP head and main studs.
Greddy twin 18g turbos
Turbo Xs ECU
Greddy turbo timer and boost controller
APS stainless steel exhaust
Sparco seats and harnesses
Nismo shocks and springs
Hotchkis front and rear sway bars
Seibon carbon fiber hood
Cyn-R-G single disc clutch

It currently makes 440whp at 12 PSI, which should be a big enough step up for me to begin with. It's going to be a long 3-5 days!

Welcome!

more importantly, why not some wide rims/tires? You need to be able to put down some of that TT power don't you?

I think those base 17in rims would be better suited for you as a "drift spare" or a winter setup.

My car only has a nismo catback and I'm running 285s. So much fun!!!

Welcome to the forum and nice Z but 440rwhp at 12 psi sounds a little on the low side.First thing i would do is find a rep shop in your area and have the tune checked out.

yea first thing id do is strap it to a dyno and get a new tune..never know...and really it should make quite a bit more power than that for sure on 12psi unless thats a real stingy dyno

Thanks everybody!

My buddy commented on the power being low as well, especially for being tuned at Forged Performance. What shop around the Chicago area would you recommend? GRD?

The tires are almost done anyway, so I might as well upgrade the wheels/tires. Are 9.5s in the rear sufficient, or should i go for 10.5s?

I plan on joining ChicagoZ as soon as it comes in. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow, but it's unlikely. Although they said it'd take three days to be picked up and it only took two, so who knows?

9.5 front and 10.5 rear is a very popular combo for our cars, but it won't hurt to get 11-12's in the rear for better traction.

^^ if the car is dropped, and or plan to be then i suggest 10.5 to be the max. Anything wider will rub the fender.

camber, offset, and rolled/pulled fenders can all be be a factor. most people who lower their cars do some sort of fender work anyways unless they're running really high offsets.

i would definitely suggest nothing smaller than 10's in the rear with the power the car is putting down.

It's not slammed, but it is lowered a decent amount. I'll look into 10.5.

Sorry! I thought about doing a build myself, but this was the better financial decision. Plus I can enjoy it sooner.
