To respond to 350ZDJ and DFW, I don't put the car in boost a lot. I only use it for spirited driving moments or whenever a Porsche, Corvette, Cobra, SS or other form of competition wants to play.
I did have it conservatively tuned which helps but still, at basically 100,000 miles, I'm very proud of the motor.
DFW, the VQ is a good motor but the thinning of the connecting rods towards the crankshaft is a huge weakness.

I believe it is the main cause of failure in boosted motors (rods snapping or bending). It scares me so much that I think about it every time I start getting in to higher boost levels.
129,936 as sitting in the garage right now. Valve covers have not been off yet. Owned it for 4 years, one month and had 37k on it when got it. I remember the drive home, bought it in cali, flew in, drive to cal speedway to watch the redline event. Met Mike B, Scott from relentless and a few others, thought they were all crazy for taking there Z to the track.

theres no way your shocks, LCA bushings, rear diff bushings, rotors, plugs etc are anywhere near alive anymore.
youre in luck, spend 2 grand and youll have a brand new car again tho.
Yeah. I remember a thread on here or another Z website where a guy was doing a build and he showed his aftermarket rods next to the factory rods and compared to the aftermarket rods, the factory's were quite thin.

Haha, jk, well damn now I'm gunna reconsider all my plans, lol
Do you drive like a mad man or would you if you were boosted?
i have a 03 with 138k. (knock on wood) I havnt had anything wrong with my car thats major. just the pads,belts... just maintance. bought it 2yrs ago with 115k. its my DD driven EVERY day. i have to give the Z props also. Dont be ashamed you at 100k. Hell! im at 138k with stock 6mt clutch!
What would make more sense to do with a high mileage Z? Mines creeping up on 100k and it's all paid off, but which would make more sense to do? Keep replacing things as they break, which has been nothing yet *knock on wood*, or just trade it up at a dealership for a newer Z?

Imagine the money you can save, invest or spend elsewhere with no car payments!
