Newbie here and i just found 04 350z touring, black with 55k miles but have some reservations:

1. Every panel of the car has dents and dings ( driver + passenger door has heavy dings)
2. I believe the roof needs to painted due to cracked clear coats
3. The passenger door does not lock and the window does not work

the car has clean title but never seen such abused 350z. My question is how much is to fix all the dings and dents.. I just need an estimate to use as a price leverage

 

With all that damage and those problems, why would you even want it? I say pass on it, and find something in better condition.

 

i agree, you can find a better conditioned Z for the same price.

 

thanks guys. I forgot to mentioned the 350z need new tires + brake job. I was just curious since i thought maybe i can buy the z at a lower price and fix it.

 

What is he asking for it? Window motor is $130, and simple to replace. Brakes are around $200 , tires, well you are probably buy wheels anyhow. Paintwork, do you want a bodykit? If so it needs paintwork anyhow. If the price is right, buy, if not , pass.

 

I look at it this way, if my car even after all these years gets a door ding? I'm at the dent removal place the next day to get it out. If someone doesn't care enough to park where someone won't be smacking their doors, etc., what other things don't they care about?

Those dings may be the least of your worries. I bet that driver missed an oil change or two.

They are affordable now so look for a well maintained car.

 

he is asking $11k. I am just looking to fix up the car to the factory standard.. NO bodykit or etc.. If anything i was planning to double din but thats pretty much it. I am planning to use the z as my daily driver..

 

After getting forced off the road last spring it was about 1400 to get both sides of the car repainted, two dents taken out of the door, and everything blended. Keep in mind that was in SE Ohio and I paid extra to have the driver side done. Overall, for 11k, you could probably find a nicer car.

 

wow sorry to hear about your incident. I just got an estimate from a local body shop and they quoted me $4100 to fix everything except the brake and tires. They told me that they have to replace the front + rear bumper, full paint job, dent removal for front + rear fenders + two doors. It will take two weeks to replace everything.. OH well, going to look elsewhere for my z..

 

Pass on this one. Its a money pit.

 

11000 for an 04 hell no i bought an 04 touring for 9000 in socal at a dealership, had some miles (90000)but the car was clean as *****. and i bought it last year. 55000 miles doesnt justify a busted body.

thanks guys for your acute elaborations. after reading various inputs, i decided to look elsewhere for my z. Do you guys recommend z as your daily driver.. I currently drive fx35 and had g35 sedan but in need for a dd, i was looking into 350z. I feel in love with the z's from 300zx..

 

Car is still in great working order, im at 114000 and no probs just same old monthly maintenance. i cant complain. did you check out that dealer? did they have any more z's?

 

I just picked up a 04.5 Touring@ auction fpr $11.5K. It has 50500K on it, owned by a chick. 6spd., in decent shape for 6 years old. Only real problem was she couldn't park for chit, wheels are pretty messed up and it needs tires. I'd give the body 9 out of 10, a couple of door dings, lower bumper scrapped, and a few imbedded love bugs in the paint.

Keep looking, you'll find one!

I know a paintless dent guy that's pretty good. He's mobile and he guarantees his work... if it's not to his standard he doesn't charge your for it!
