Get some visual mods and let them speak for themselves. Or do what I did, bought a decal plotter off ebay and cut vinyls for my car all day for fun. Take them off whenever I get bored.

^^^ +1. As long as it's not a chrome NISMO badge in the same spot then I don't see anything wrong with it. I have seen a ton of Z's with the NISMO sticker on the front edge of the hood by the headlight. None of them were factory NISMO's
i have a nismo sticker on both rear 1/4 windows, i get asked all the time if its a nismo...ibjust simply say "no but it has a few nismo parts" then educate them that nismo is nissans aftermarket company. Though ive been debating on removing them just to change things up a bit

Personally, I don't care for stickers on cars, but so long as you aren't making your car out to be something it isn't you shouldn't get laughed at or beat up or wedgied.
