Would a Nissan 350Z be good as my first car ?
$12k car with 90k miles as a weekend play toy no problem, as a daily driver , yes they are good, but if something goes south, do you have the $$$ to fix it. Repairs are not cheap.
Judging by the majority of the people that responded to my post, I don't even want one anymore. If that's how 350Z drivers are, I don't want to become one of them. I was really just asking about info. I was NOT asking "how many kids will I kill on a 20 mph school zone?"
But for the ones that did try to help me, thank you very much.

I would also advise you to check out the Marketplace to get a general idea for pricing and options - https://my350z.com/forum/cars-for-sale-81/
Good luck with whatever you decide.

So I'm gonna get a car. I've never actually owned one before; I used to drive a Mercedes C230, and that's it.
When it comes to aspect, the Nissan 350Z is my favorite car. I love it but I don't know much about technicalities. I'm also not very experienced with cars, so if someone could give me details, advice or suggestions, please do.
Also, my budget is around 10,000$, 12k at most, so I'm wondering what chances do I have in getting one ?
Thanks in advance.

Get some experience first then come back here
this is the 4th car I've had, 3rd one that I buy on my own cash, and it's an excellent ride. You just have to learn how to drive it SLOW on the road, which is pretty much impossible to do when your driving +300HP and +450Tq and the sound of the engine and the exhaust just wants to make you go fast. this car also tends to drift a lot. so just be carefull, test drive one, if you buy it you wont regret it unless you wreck it. I had to buy new wheels, cause the spokes on the left rear wheel Axis Hiro I was running on cracked from to much acceleration and torque, so I found a set of stock 35th anniversary 18" wheels.

well, most members here i'm sure are just commenting based on previous experience
i think everybody makes at least one big car mistake in their life, then they learn their lesson
I learned my lesson in a Toyota Matrix, and now i know what everybody means by "drive carefully in the snow"
had it been a 350z rather than a matrix, i'd most likely be dead

If you are looking at getting a Z as a daily, not drive like a douche bag, and respect the car; by all means do it. On the other hand, if you're getting a Z to "show off" or to "one up" your friends. Save the car the trouble and get something else. If you're looking for legitimate track performance, learn how to control a RWD in a s13 or 14.
Assuming this is coming out of some other person's wallet, i personally think a self-paid Honda > Daddy's Z... (something to think about)

Personally, I think you just need to cowboy up a little.
Getting a used, bottom of the barrel Z (based on your budget) sounds like money down the drain. Get a newer, more reliable car that fits your budget... you'll thank me when you are 30.
