I was in a head on in a Honda Element 5 years ago. I'd bought it brand new two weeks prior. The damage didn't look nearly as bad and my insurance company still totaled it.

 

What kind of community is this where nobody is trying to help. They're all just standing around on the phone.

A judge will give the drunk 30 days suspended sentence. He will be on the road in a month looking to kill someone. Shame.

 

Thanx guys! There's always better days ahead. I got the accident report today. The drunk driver stated that I hit him but couldn't explain why he was in the S/B lane. Witness 1 stated that unit 1 (drunk driver) attempted to pass her on the left in a no passing zone and struck unit 2 (me). Witness 2 stated she heard a crash and observed unit 1 facing N/B in a S/B lane. Drunk driver received four citations. The vehicle owner wasn't in the vehicle so I don't know how that will work with her insurance since she let someone else use her car.

 

Insurance wise this is probably a claim against your company. Drunks seldom have a drivers license much less insurance. Let your insurance company take care of the headache.

That looked like one nasty crash. I am glad you are ok. People will make up some of silliest excuses to make it seem like they didn't do something, it was pretty clear he was going the wrong way down the street. Good luck with insurance.

 

Glad your okay, that is definitely total. I wrecked a car (non-350z), your car looked a lot worse. If you got a police report on the accident, no worries because a lot of time these idiots will try to turn the table. Years ago, our company paid this lady $3xx,xxx for an accident that only cost $2,xxx to fix and she complained about back hurting, job, etc.... our lawyer probaly got kickbacks from this. Anyway, I hope your next car will be betta.

I was involved in a hit n run in my Z this past Feb. Limo van blew a stop, tboned me. and ran leaving me on a snowbank. 2 hours after i filed my report he called the cops and filed his report saying he was hit and that i fled the scene lol. Moron didnt know his front plate was ripped off at the scene and that i filed my report 10 mins after the accident. It sucks and leaves you feeling helpless bc of some idiots negligence. Let your insurance go after these ppl.
