As a fellow 350Z driver, I can totally relate to why your dad love this car-----hell, we ALL do, that's why we are here.

Very nice of you to do this for him man. Thumb up!
Not weaksauce. If you don't well up a little at a dying man getting his favorite car as a gift from his son, you're dead inside.

Thank you all for the kind comments. My mom comes on here and looks at these comments from time to time. I will post some pics of the car with my car when I get some taken. My brother now owns the black Z in the video and he just created an account on my350z.com. His user name is cliftonfotos. Send him some love on here. He doesn't know much about the site yet.... I'm trying to get him involved. This is a great community of guys and gals.

Again, thank you all for your kind words. I just think this story needs to be out there for people to see, and see the message it portrays. This video needs to make people realize that life is short, don't take your family for granted! You never know when they won't be there. Be kind to eachother. Love one another!

I have seen this video time and time again. May your father rest in peace. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what color, transmission, or wheels you have, all that matters is we all drive one of the greatest cars on the roads. Your dad seemed like a great guy, and what an amazing family he had surrounding him. It sounded like he was on that throttle near the end of the video... GOOD MAN!

Like everybody else I saw this a while ago. It's such an amazing, touching thing to watch. It made me really sad reading that he died not much longer after the video was made. My dad has been battling prostate cancer for almost eleven years now after the doctors told him he had 1-3 years to live. He can't drive anymore but if he could I would gladly go out and get him a 69 corvette like he had when he was my age. You guys did a great a great thing for your dad.

I've watched this video multiple times and showed it to my family members as well. I was only 24 when I lost my dad and can only wish that everybody appreciates the time given with your loved ones. At times driving around I would of given anything to see my dad drive my car just once, he use to be a z enthusiast as well and even owned a 280z before I was conceived. Great job on sharing this special moment, I won't lie either it brought a tear to my eye and gave me a lot of appreciation of life itself. May you cherish this video forever and we will keep the memory of your father in our hearts as well.

When I saw this it made me realize how ungrateful I am. You see I always dreamed of a Porsche 911 and really couldn't ever really afforded one. I bought my Z for myself and my son and really love it. Somehow after watching this, I love it even more! God Bless your Dad, may he RIP. Thanks for sharing and reminding us what is important in life - family and health above all, and making us better appreciate the gifts God has given us.

one of the best things a son could ever do for his dad. my dad always wanted a '69 GTO, but those are to rare to come across.... i doubt i'd ever be able to do that for him. RIP!

Such a touching and heartwarming video that you and your family can treasure forever. Watching it I had so many thoughts running through my head... I thought of a co-worker whose husband is battling colon cancer and is going through some very trying times. I also thought my own dad and how much I love him but don't say it to him very much. I thought about the day that I went and had a colonoscopy at the age of 37 and how scared I was but lucky that everything was normal. Early screening is essential in this form of cancer and I suggest you all take this story as inspiration to take care of yourselves and your families.

I think the video is very simple.

I think in that simplicity, we all become empathetic and imagine your feelings of melancholy going away on that day for a little while, and a group of people, a family, were truly excited to the core, exhilirated to do this for their dad, husband, family member. We place ourselves in that situation.. we think of our own families, and that's where it hits home for everyone.

What it made me stop and think of is something i have been looking at much more in my own life lately.. and that is the idea of appreciation. And in this case its two fold.

Understanding the blessings of a caring family, love, strength, and also the blessing that I have good health. That My father has good health, and my mother. People rack themselves crazy day in and day out over feelings that they arent good enough, maybe arent yet married, don't have a nice enough place to live, a good enough job, etc etc... when truly the gift of life, health and our opportunitues are truly so much more precious and finite.
I try to chime in on Off Topic threads that deal with these issues to get people to realize there are so many things they shouldnt worry about in this life, and so many more things they should start to care about more instead.

Secondly, i watch this video and think after all my talk of appreciation... what a glutton I am. Look at my car in my signature. Its crazy. Its over the top.. and then back around and over the top again. And i truly take it for granted.

Here is a man who has raised children, lived in harsher times in the world than I, has kept a marriage and been a husband, and who has now also faced an extremely horrendous form of cancer... and all he wanted to be happy was a stock black 350z.

Who the hell am I to need so much more than that? I guess i just had to stop n think.. what do i still care so much about that i need a car thats any better than a stock 350z? Its a great car.. what strange thing makes me spend so much time and thought on this vehicle?

I get onlookers, kids, and young men etc that i pass by and talk to sometimes here that are quite happily envious of the car Ive built ( well its not to everyones liking, but thats asides the point), and we all do like cars.. they ma,ke us smile.

but i watch this video and truly I AM envious of you and your family.
that you have what appears to be a nice and close decent family who also get to spend time with each other, who care about each other and came together in time and finance as well. ....and by the picture, it appears you also have a very lovely wife, and the opportunity to stand in a picture with her barefoot in the clean sands somewhere. And THAT is what lifes about my man.

And we read your replies and can hear your modesty.

As a Christian man who often struggles to be as such, my hat off to you OP for being a good guy, a modest guy....enough where people across the country on an internet forum can tell somehow that it is truly the case with you.

My prayers to your family, and to your mother. Im glad she gets to read these comments. God Bless in hopes that you still continue to honor your fathers memory with this for years to come.

First time to see the video and heartwarming is an understatement. Truly incredible what you did. Keep that Z in the family for as long as it'll go!
