Ever notice how all the trolls that come over here are S2K owners?? Funny how you don't see 350Z owners/preorderers going over to other boards and trolling. You don't see Vette guys here trolling or Porsche guys, it's always the damned S2K guys. I guess the S2K is what all the "Powered by VTEC" boys aspire to own and when they get them........well........they are still the same "Powered by VTEC" boys. I have come to the scientific conclusion that VTEC melts the brain. You nailed it. The reason why Vette or Porsche guys don't go around to other forums TROLLING is because they have class and don't need to put other cars down just to feed their egos. They know they drive nice cars and there are a lot of cars out there, some better than theirs and some not. This is the same with us Z fanatics, we love our cars and we bought them or are going to buy them cause we love the car for what it is and what it represents. On the flip side, s2000 owners (not all) don't appreciate cars which are clearly superior and they feel the need to go TROLLING to boost their self-esteem regarding their purchase. That is just SAD.

 

...I ordered the blue for a reason - I thought it would be the most striking and individual of the colors and I'm hoping the car will win me over. I think it may have it in it, and yes I want to see the blue out in the open unwrapped and fully detailed. I think it'll look great, thats why I'm not even thinking about giving up my preorder. It's more that I'm more than a little surprised by my own first impressions even under admittedly far from ideal circumstances.

Regarding the whole moronic sports coupe thing. Taking our S2000 owners logic that any car that derives its driveline from an Altima can't be a sports car would mean that the Porsche 911 isn't a true sports cars since it's simply a highly refined version of the old VW beetle platform. Yep. Makes sense to me....

If an inability to consider that a preorder can have questions (and a LONG time Z owner - did any of you who so quickly labelled me own two 300 twin turbos?) defines who you are, it looks to me that you're the clowns.

Open your minds folks and don't be so quick to judge others - I just shared impressions and I think I fully qualified them. They are as legitimate as anyone elses. If they don't agree with your opinions that does not make me a troll. I've got a preorder coming and I'm not slamming Zs. It just didnt zing me the way I was hoping it would so far....

In case it's too hard for you to grasp. I don't own an S2000. I passed on the S2000, Boxter, Vette, Audi TT and lots of others. My business partner owns an S2000, but sorry, it's not for me. I want to LOVE the 350 - I've got one coming. I'm just not so sure it's happening. Gut response - not a troll. Not trying to offend. Just expressing my opinion.

Is that so hard for you to understand? Or do you have to distill the world into simple picture postcard labels to substitute for actual thought?

This is the definition of a sports car, although i would add that it's usually rwd. The Z, s2k, z06, etc., are all sports cars.

Sport coupes are those that are those cars that are meant to be a little practical with a little fun added in. they sometimes have a 2+2 seat configuration. When i think sports coupe, i think acura rsx-s, celica gts, etc.

Just goes to show that if you set your standards high enough, you will either end up with EXACTLY the car you want... or maybe no car at all!

I understand your point, though; you shouldn't get the car if you don't fall in love with it. I wouldn't want to get a new car like this and be less than thrilled with everything about it, including the looks. I would just give it some more time, viewing it under better circumstances and see if it grows on you. I didn't like the looks of the initial show car (with the huge gaping grille) but liked the production vehicle and grew to like it more the more I looked at it.

 

I'm sorry if it came out that way, but we weren't talking about you being a TROLL. We were talking about all these honda fanboys who have found this page lately, the ones that paid $32K+ for a 4cyl honda and now have insecurities since the 350Z is a much better car.

Yeah, that's why I said originally that I know that sometimes first impressions don't reveal the true beauty in a new design. I'm keeping an open mind and aching to see the blue in person. I'm hoping that does the trick. I really want to like this car because I LOVE Zs. I waited this long, driving nothing but 300 TTs since '91 because nothing came out in the mean time I liked as much. This is the first new thing to come along that's even tempted me...

I was responding more towards Raceboy and a few others who seemed to be lumping me into the troll category and actively labeling me a clown or an ignore list candidate. Maybe I'm a bit too sensitive but being labeled a clown by what are probably first time Z owners when I've been driving them for for 11 years is too much to take. It just didn't sit well with me.

And I agree completely on the S2000 trolls. They're not all like that though. My business partner owns one and he thinks the Z is cool too....

I promise to calm down now.
