Soon to be owner of a 350z
This will be my first nice, long term car. Iv owned a Chevy Corsica in HS, and since 07 I have owned a Toyota Celica (1991). Parents have put their 2 cents in at every car i have looked at, and the 350Z was no exception. So, I come to ask you 350z owners and enthusiasts. How are these cars? Dependable? Expensive upkeep? Insurance? Pro's and Con's really is what im looking for. Thanks for the help guys! Hopefully by April 7th I'll have my 350Z! Cheers.

I'm 19 and my insurance is more then my car payment. Insurance cost me about $190 a month and I only have 1 ticket from 3 years ago. I do have full coverage with a $100 deductible so that's also why my payment is pretty damn high but being young doesn't help.
Dependability for the Z's just make sure you buy one that wasn't beat on too much and check for the normal things, like most cars if you take care of it and do the scheduled maintenance it will last.
Up keep isn't super expensive maybe a tad more then usual?
Pros - it's a fun car to drive, looks great.
Cons - 2 seater, you wanna go fast, and you can't stop modding them.

Make sure you do your scheduled maintenance and check your oil and it'll be super dependable. Don't let a ditzy friend do your oil change and strip your drain plug like me and you won't have any problems. I drive my Z 3.5 - 4.5 hours, drift it all day, then drive the 3.5 - 4.5 hours all day back with no issues at all. Super rewarding cars to own, once a Z owner always a Z owner. Getting some badass power is a bit more expensive than other cars, but Z's look better, sound better, and are vaginal magnets.
Only downside is if you wanna take home 3 chicks. Might have issues there, unless they're all very flexible and can all fit somewhere on the passenger side. Unless you end up getting a roll cage. Then just make sure they wear skirts when they're hopping into the car.
Win, win, and more win.

First off: search. All this info has been asked alot before.
But since I'm not feeling like a jerk right now, let me ask you, why do you want a Z?
Yes it's dependable, but it will cost you quite a bit more on insurance, gas, upkeep etc... than your corolla or anything similar. Keep in mind, that you'll have to pay about 12k for a good condition, low-mileage 03 or 04 Z. If you're not a complete enthusiast, than you're better off just spending 8k on something that gets better gas mileage and is more drivable in the winter (especially since you live in Portland).

Well, Im getting this car because I have always wanted to. I have never had that "fun" type of car. I know doing the routine stuff will go a long way...just wasn't sure why my father insisted these cars are expensive to maintain....seems like its just another car but maybe add ins ome baby'ing haha. I just did a quite through my insurance company, and its only about $60 a month with my history and goodies. I understand the 2 seater part, but...im not looking for a family car just yet and iv chauffeured enough people around in my day. Time to get a break from it. Thanks for the feedback guys, I plan on living at this site to pick up tips and good ideas from you all. Thanks again!
