Default i feel slow in my 350z

i have a stock 350z except for a CAI, and idk what it is i feel slow. just today a m5 bmw passed me like i was standing still. im still really really new to the 350z so be nice, what do i need besides a turbo since i dont have 5 grand to drop on one. i just want to be able to at least keep up with ppl, but i just dont want to go out and buy alot of random bolt ons and see what happens. I want a sporty feeling in my z. any ideas

Sell your Z and get a RSX. I hear those are fast.

How fast are you planning on going?
Some cars are just in different class.

You need a lot more than $5k for a turbo, also an M5 will get away from most NA Zs in a straight line, will will have a fighting chance in the corners.

Haha that BMW owner probably laughed at you as he blew by you. The thing you didn't take into consideration is the fact that his car probably cost 3 to 4 times more than your Z. If you want to keep up with stock M5's produced in the last 8 years, and don't want to drop 5k, your best bet would probably be nitrous. I don't see any other way to keep up with that V-10, 7 speed transmission, 500 HP, and 384 TQ, which is what the '05 M5 boasts. Actually, now that I think about it you might NEED forced induction to keep up with something like that.

If the OP doesn't have the money for a turbo.. chances are the LS swap is outta the question.

I'm in the same boat OP but I've own my Z for 8 years now and the only time it feels fast is in the corners. I now all about the M5, I was on the track with one at BIR he had me in the straights but I was able to catch back up in the corners. (I'm not on stock susp.) That car is a beast, but you will need more the 5k to boost a Z even if you do nothing to the block. You better take that 5k and double it and you'll be more realistic in your statement.

So in the end take 5k and bet it on black...

Who said the m5 wasn't a way better driver, etc? Nitrous is your best bang for the buck, compared to an CAI lol

Lol did you actually compare your stock z to an m5...oh boy. Like clarkah said, some cars are in a different class. New m5 comes twin turbo off the lot.

How bout a wing I hear they add 10-15 horsepower lol jk. Listen man it's not all about speed your Z is a great looking car throw some nice wheels on it 9.5 front 10.5 rear with a nice lip get an exhaust and some coilovers tint and be done with it. Or sell it and buy someone's Z on here already setup with a tt or sc.....

Ebay turbo kit, split second box, and 440cc injectors should net you right around 900whp. Go for the gold!

For one you z IS slow. Like most na z's are.. And yes m5 is on another level... Your comparing prunes to oranges my friend. Buy something else if you want to go fast... Ss comaro, or ws6 trans am.. Cheap and fast, bye.

Rsx is by far your best option. I heard that adding a CAI to a stock motor gives you a 150 hp increase.
