Thanks for the great info. While many people continue to whine about the Z,Nissan is in the business of making money. They sold over 36,000 cars(Z) and the best selling model is the Touring.Bottom line Nissan has done what it said it will do when they said they will build the Z again.Make it profitable and affordable with world class performance and handling.

Just to..stir it up a bit: (From another board, drives a S2k)
So I got to wring out an RX8 last weekend. Heres the scoop.
1. I love how this car looks. Mazda did it right with the packaging. Its small and nimble, and being able to seat four people (albiet somewhat uncomfortably) is a huge bonus.
2. I test drove a full laden six speed. Nav, leather, CD changer, you name it. Sticker was 33 something.
3. The rotary engine sounds VERY unusual. Its a light buzz/whine, that increases in volume or decreases depending upon revs. Doesnt sound like the car is straining at all. It gathers speed with a complete absence of drama.
4. It gathers speed with a complete absence of power too. Going from a 5 mph roll in first to about 90 mph (merging onto a freeway), I had to refrain from laughing. THIS is supposed to be a sports car? A STOCK s2k would have it for lunch! Downshifting into a lower gear, flooring it in higher gears.........just the same listless acceleration. Gawd, guys. What were you thinking? And the shifter wasnt impressive either. You have to "stir the pot" in the s2k to make power, but its fun to do. The RX has a pretty notchy shifter. Somewhere between the S2k and the 350Z.
5. Cornering: wow. This car can handle. It has absolutely lunatic grip and composure. The last time something felt this well connected to the road, it was an M3 with the 19 inch wheels. My s2k is definietely not as comfortable/confidence inspiring close to the limit, or at it. (Speaking of which, I REALLY pissed the wife off last night, letting the tail hang out at an on ramp. She thought we were gonna die). Anyway, yes, the Mazda has handling nailed.
6. Interior. Yumm. Nav, lots of buttons, nice bright gauges. Me likey.
7. Verdict? Pass.
