dont think like this. think positive. you will afford the gas and you will mod your car, get a 6speed whatever. you will get every thing that you want. you will. and it will happen. try it
+1. The odds were 95% against me when I wanted the Z. I always thought to myself I'm never gonna be able to get it and make it work, but I still kept trying... Now I own a Lemans Sunset
If you love your Z as much as I love mine, than you'll make it happen. If you dont have a job, than get a job. If you do have a job and it doesn't pay well, than look for better opportunities because they are out there.
And there is no way you are not gonna mod your Z throughout college. It doesn't work that way lol.
Hopefully once I get out of college and work for a few years I can afford to buy either a manual 350z or maybe even a 370z, then the modding will begin
I love high schoolers that think when they graduate college they will automatically make loads of money.

I remember when I was naive, too.
I haven't quite graduated yet and I'm making an excellent salary, but nothing like the expectations I used to have of $100k. Mechanical engineers (or any engineer, really) aren't as rare as they used to be so you have to be competitive. But then again, I'm the only one I know making a good amount of money while I'm still in school. 15hr days are the only downfall but busting my *** is finally paying off.
Long story short, you're right. With graduating college comes many other expenses including the debt you racked up so even making good money, you have years before you're settled in enough to blow it. Unless you're irresponsible, then any time is a good time to blow money.
Just get a couple credit cards, max them out by buying mods. Use the loan money to make the minimum payments and to buy xyrem for all the ladies you'll be getting!
Heck, bankruptcy only stays on your CR for 10 years, and only 7 if you go for chapter 13! You'll be fine :P
The point of this was to tell a bunch of strangers on the internet that you cannot mod your car? Someone calls you on it and you get your panties in a bunch saying you wanted advice.
I really wonder how people end up with an automatic when they wanted a 6 speed? That cracks me up. Did you just buy the first car you spotted sitting in a lot?
Meh
End of the day just be glad you are young and rolling a nice car, stock or not!
Just wait till college and you see the rust buckets everyone else drives haha.
You aren't the same kid who's upset that his 17 year old friend is trying to buy a faster car, are you?
Nah that's not me. My friend is getting some salvage mustang though but, nah different guy haha

Haha I'm working on getting a better job. I'm 17 so once I turn 18 in a few months I'll be applying at places with higher pay

I've talked to college seniors who majored in software engineering, all of them had jobs already paying 75k a year and some were interviewing at Google to see if they could get an even better job. And plus, I know it's going to take some time, I don't plan on getting out of college and getting a new car right away. It'll take a few years

What advice do you want?
Why are you here if you aren't contributing anything important to this conversation?
