Default 2007 Base or 2006 Enthusiast

I'm look at buying a 350z. I found a 2007 Base and a 2006 enthusiast. Around the same price and around the same miles. Would you buy the 07 with the HR motor over the 06 with the tc, vlsd, and other extras? and why?

I'm looking to boost it down the road also

07 no question.

edit: and to answer why, the improved engine and resale value more than make up for what the 06 enthusiast has that the 07 base doesn't. The VLSD isn't anything special anyway and a better diff can just be put in the 07 when you decide you want one.

If you plan to go FI DE has many more cheaper options, if you're just going stock or minimal mods HR is the way to go.

I enjoy my traction control in the rain and my limited slip is nice to have. I enjoy more torque then more HP.

I'd say wait for a Z that you don't have to sacrifice something you want on it.

'07 for the HR. But if the '06 model's extras matter more than an HR motor, then go with that.

HR - full bolt on and a tune will get you closer to 300 whp

DE - full bolt on and a tune will get you maybe 270 whp.

more power. more fun with HR. as for as VLSD or TCS... that can be fixed with driver mod: seat time.

that being said... if you want to track your car or go for power and fun... go with the HR.

if you're just wanting a DD that looks good and you can have some fun here and there... get the DE.

agreed with Phenom though - you can always get a VSLD installed later on down the road.

I have 07 base and love it. If you plan on modding I would go with the 07 base. It won't have cruise conrol but I never used cruise control that much so I didn't mind. Also it has open differential, but I planned on replacing this anyways so that was no big deal. No traction control in base either but I dont like the computer correcting tire spin. You will learn to be a better driver without traction control. I live in Florida so other than rain I don't really have bad weather, and driving in the rain isn't bad you just got to be a little more careful, but I hope you are little more careful in bad weather anyways. Oh the cloth seats suck so plan on upgrading them.

I live in texas so it barely rains plus i drove a ap1 s2000 supercharged before which has no traction control so i think i can handle a car without TC. Wow the HR can really hit 300whp with just addons? thats impressive.

theirs too many variables to count that, go more off how fast your car is after bolt ons.

Since you are planning on FI, stick with the 03-05 DE's, the 06 DE is a revup engine. Revup was only out for 05 Anniversary and 06's, that requires modification to supercharger or turbocharger that are for DE engines.
