Default NAV tip

Dont know if this has been posted before, but I was having some trouble "unlocking" all the extra features like the address book and things like that.
So I actually checked the manual.
You just have to go into the settings screen and turn off "short menus" which is on by default. This unlocks all the expert features listed in the manual.

Again, sorry if this has been covered already.

Thanks man! So looking forward to using the nav. Is birdview as cool as it sounds? I wasn't gonna get the nav, but that feature sold me.

I really wish that had the NAV system. I wonder if they will ever decide to sell it as an dealer installed accessory?

Actually I havent even tried the bird view yet, there's so much stuff to explore with this thing.

Another tip - make sure you edit the default speed estimates. It uses 55mph freeway, 25mph main roads, and 15mph small roads or something. So the time estimates when you are using guidance tend to be off.

And another neat feature I didnt know about - when in expert mode you can set up "avoidance areas", so it wont consider roads within certain areas if you dont want it to (keep you out of bad parts of town). Slick!

Man, I wish I ordered the NAV! I love toys like that, and on top of that I get lost easily. When I ordered the car I couldn't justify another 2 grand for what is essentially a toy, but then again the whole car is a toy! Oh well, maybe some day Nissan will offer a retrofit kit to add the NAV later.
