You said you are set on the car no matter what. So that's said and done.
when I bought my Z I didn't know much about cars but was "mechanically inclined", and just by reading on this forum daily I was able to figure out an engine swap and started building a vague list of my future mods and gained a very good understanding of these engines and FI options.

this forum is FULL of knowledge. greatest car specific forum I've ever been on.

so if you got the time, read read search read. oh and check out the private classifieds, some nice stuff goes up for sale in there frequently.

Good Luck !
Believe me, I'd love to look through the forums but I'm on my phone. Just moved into a new place a few days ago and still settling in so it would take me 10x as long on my phone than a PC. Either way, no matter the negative comments or people just trying to help me out saying its a bad idea an will just get me in trouble (thanks for looking out) I'm going to do it. I know how to be responsible about it, I'll be alright.

If you are still wanting to pursue this I would definitely suggest researching A LOT about FI. It is not something that you want to learn as you go and not something you fudge along the way. Of course 400hp is very possible but it is definitely not ideal for a DD and it will take a good amount of work, money, and knowledge to keep it running smooth.
