Been here for some time and most of the:

"I crashed my Z into a pole on Thanksgiving" to
"I accidentally drifted into a sidewalk" to
"Help I wrecked my Z"

threads have mostly been of recent few years. Newb/young owners, most of which have not even owned their Z for more than a few months. RWD, inexperience, big ego leads to more crashes.

I've seen 240's crash into a 350z's at events. The z walks away the 240 is obliterated. Id say Nissan is improving.

For some of us that have had their 350's from new (9,10, 11 years), there were relatively few accidents and perhaps slightly more respect and understanding of the control under our right foot.

As a few of the others have pointed out, the cabin of the 350 stands up fairly well in reasonable impact, it's just heavy impact, very few cars and their occupants are going to survive that. And if a vehicle, any vehicle has not been maintained corrected and the tyres are lacking or mismatched, does not help, nor does the attitude of the person driving if they do not respect the vehicle.

As with a lot things in the media, the way it is posed is often not correct or misleading and sensationalised for the mass market.

Everyone is bitching on the post on that page about the rain. Yeah when you run Max summer tires what do you expect? I have RE970AS Potenzas on right now, I have to try to get the back end to come out. Tires are important.

I'm stupid, or at least I was back in the day…I've replaced everything on my car twice…except the driver…

it's not a question of being stupid or smart behind the wheel, it's a matter of being stupid (or smart)at the wrong (or right)time behind the wheel.

my thought…don't be stupid at the wrong time...

long live the 350...

we should still spread the story so the uneducated parents will believe it and stop buying this car for their teenage kids. this will also, in turn, save a lot of z from the fate of being wrecked.

I was just in an accident today. I hit some black ice and my rear end completely lost it. I was going about 65 and was not using cruise control. I had 2 75 pound sandbags in the rear which helped out around town. I am not sure if there is any damage yet. I will find out tomorrow. Pray to God my Tdx v2 was unmolested. She was just installed.

Here's a single car accident - an idiot from Oregon doing 100mph through the biggest speed trap in Washington State. The guy lived with only minor injuries.

Also, I'm assuming the "million" number is extrapolated since they didn't build anything close to a million 350z's during this timeframe.

It will take a long time for that to happen. 240z's are only now starting to appreciate again. What it will do is increase everyone's insurance premiums.
