I launched from idle and still got 14.0 If I remove the fuse and rev it up 13s would be no problem. My 0-60 would be in the mid 5s?

Was each pair of 0-60 and 1/4 results in your post done on the same run or did you do them separately? It's implied that you did them separately by the noted different launch protocols for the 0-60's. If they were the same run, not sure why the variability on the 0-60's didn't carry over to the 1/4's.

Just trying to understand the great 0-60's and ok 1/4's.

Impressive either way.

all done the same night within 1 hour of each other on the same road.

I think I get such good 0-60's because of my wide rubber in the rear which lets me hook up very well. My 1/4's are slightly better than stock probably due to my small gains from the exhaust.

With my 285's in the rear I am able to power brake at about 2,500 rpm and then nail it on the start. I get almost no wheel spin and the initial launch is pretty impressive... but it seems to take a while to hit the powerband in 3rd gear which would account for not so stellar 1/4 mi. times.

it's done with an auto tranny.... when you apply the brake at the same time applying throttle right before launching. It gets the rpms up closer to the torque peak and also gets the torque converter pre-loaded for a faster launch.

Not doubting, and i know you have been on the forum for a while, but 5.0 and less seems REALLY fast for an auto Z regardless, I would think you would run better 1/4 mile times if the 0-60 was that fast. When I had my S4 people with my similar setup; 330hp/380tq and AWD were getting that sort of 0-60 time, and better 1/4 mile times.

Either way, still very impressive, maybe I'll have to try one of the BEL fake G-techs and give it a whirl.

I'm going to the track in 2 weeks. I'll be running the software at the same time. I'm anxious to see just how close the numbers are.

will report back my findings!

If your car is stock, those numbers are bogus. HP #'s seem about right, but your 0 to 60 times are impossible. Do the math!

Do you remember what the TT was getting, if you did any runs with that too. If you did do runs with it, see if his times are on par with other TT's with the same mods if you know what they're suppose to be getting. From there we can get a better view of it's accuracy.

yeah... the TT is the 225 model with turbo and dual intercoolers. His mods include a ECU flash which is giving him 1.5bar of boost, larger fuel injectors, CAI, custom 3" cat back.

His dyno run indicated he was getting 230 to the wheels. The Quattro TT has about a 20-25% DT loss. His 0-60 was something like 5 sec We did not do a 1/4 mile. This puts him right where other TT's are with similar mods.

I'm not sure what all the hype is about my numbers... it's simple guys. The OBDII software knows the instant the car begins rolling and starts the timer... it also knows the exact instant the car hits 60mph.... same goes for 1/4 mile. All this info is being read straight from the ECU.

I admit the numbers seem hard to swallow.... unless our ECU's are feeding bogus signals to the OBDII port it's unlikely that my 0-60 and 1/4 times are inaccurate... it even accounts for my slightly oversized 285/35/19's.

The dyno numbers could be skewed due to variables like a sloped road, not having the exact weight of my car, etc.

just wait a couple weeks fellas... when I go to the track we'll see for sure if these numbers are true..... if they aren't I'll be the first to let ya know.

I will be waiting to see how they compare. If its accurate, SWEET!!! I would love to see an AT Z running 5.0 0-60!! I may even get the unit you are running. Otherwise im getting your tires to fool the 0-60 tests.

Just to let you know guys, a couple of people on this forum last summer got 0-60 of 5.2 to 5.3 with a complete stock car. They acheived this by lowering the tire pressure to 29.

I had my rear pressures lowered to about 28 when we did the pulls.

It seems to help cause when I'm inflated to 40 there is definately less bite. It'd be interesting to do a few runs first with 40psi and then a few more with 28 or so.

Think about it More tire surface area is touching the groud. If you exaggerate the situation and pretend the tires had MAX psi, it would be like trying to grip the ground with marble wheels :P

I wouldn't normally think it would make that much difference either, I'm just going by the guys who did it over the summer. They dropped ~3/10 of a second just by lowering the psi.

Once I mod my car I'm going to set my wheels on fire before I get some drag times. :P hehehe how come no one has ever thought of that?

If it is reading the speed the ECU is reading then those times are incorrect if you have any wheel spin.
