Default Blanket caught in in trunk latch.

I had my trunk packed with clothes and a blanket on top. Its now jammed into the latch mechanism. I tried pulling it out from within but no luck. The manual release doesn't work. Can I get to the mechanism from the lic. Plate at the rear (ie. Dissemble)??

By manual release.I was referring to the one under the strut bar.

I tried to pull on it with a friend pulling up on the hatch but no luck.

Try pushing down on the hatch while trying to release it.

I got my lanyard stuck in mine closing it once and the same thing happened. I just pried it open.. Good as new. Not sure about having a blanket caught in there though

Had the same problem with mine, I had my friend pull and hold the emergency release under the strut bar while I forced the trunk open
